The Delta Air Lines pilot helps out at Parley's Park Elementary School and can usually be found in his daughter's kindergarten class. Because of his nontraditional work schedule, Bob knows he is lucky to be able to volunteer and see teachers at work. "It motivates me to do more things at home with the kids." He points out that volunteers give educators more time with the students. Lacey's teacher Jean Nohavec has a roster of approximately 30 parents who help with her morning and afternoon classes, each with approximately 20 students. The extra adults allow Jean to "practice her profession with kids on a one-on-one basis," explains Bob. Kim, Bob's wife, also volunteers and substitutes at school. "I enjoy spending time with the kids. It is important for parents to show school is important to them," says Bob. They also have a son, Tanner, a Parley's fourth-grader.
