McQueen completes Institute Prospector Athletic Club fitness trainer Ken McQueen recently completed com-pleted an intensive four-day instructor instruc-tor certification program given by the Universal Fitness Institute in Denver. The Universal Certification pro gram is recognized around the coun try as one of the top courses for fitness trainers and is designed to enhance the professionalism and personalized services offered at health clubs. To receive a fitness instructor in-structor certification, one must successfully suc-cessfully pass both a written and practical exam. McQueen, a graduate of Weber State College with a bachelor's degree in Physical Education, felt the certification course was beneficial and would add to the training services offered at the Club. "With new information about health and fitness and training methods coming out almost daily, it is really helpful to learn what programs are working best at clubs today," McQueen Mc-Queen said. The certification course covered all aspects of physical fitness programming, including health screening, fitness testing, designing personalized exercise programs, pro-grams, establishing realistic fitness goals, and motivational techniques. Prospector Athletic Club Manager Scott Siemon acknowledged that having certified trainers and instructors in-structors is important to the Club's goal of providing high-quality service. ser-vice. "We've made a substantial investment in-vestment in having our aerobics instructors in-structors I.D.E.A. certified and feel that it is equally important for our fitness trainers to be certified as well", Siemon said. The Prospector Athletic Club facility features four championship racquetball courts, four outdoor tennis ten-nis courts, indoor pool, full weight room, aerobics studio, whirlpool, steam, sauna, massage, physical therapy, and child care. The Athletic Club is part of Prospector Square Hotel and Conference Center, one of a collection of resort hotels and condominiums con-dominiums managed by Village Resorts, Inc.
