Promo-tion. He has little time or attention to spare for his rambunctious 11-year-old son Charlie (Fred Savage), and if it weren't for the fact that his girlfriend, Sam Crespi (Corinne Bohrer), is the fashion buyer for V&A, he'd have a hard time scheduling schedul-ing her in. The refined life of Marshall Seymour is turned upside down after he and Sam return from a buying trip to Bangkok. While in the Orient, Marshall inadvertently becomes involved in-volved in the high-stakes contraband activities going on around him. Two international opportunists, Tina (Swoosie Kurtz) and her ruthless husband Turk (David Proval), have decided to take an ill-gotten mystical skull back to the United States for sale. Cherished by the Buddhist monks, the skull has secret powers that no occidental mind can fathom. Turk decides to use Marshall's Mar-shall's department store shipment as an ideal cover for sneaking the skull through U.S. customs. At Vigar and Avery, no one is more astonished than Marshall when he opens a box to show the staff his latest purchase from the Orient that he proposes to stock by the thousands - and he discovers the mystical skull instead. In the meantime Tina persues her plan to get back her skull, phoning . Marshall, apoligizing for the mix-up and asking when they could meet to exchange items. But, when the time comes for Tina and Marshall to make the switch, however, the "Marshall" she meets up with in the department store has no idea what she wants or who she is. Thanks to Charlie's meddling, father and son become victims of the disruptive mystical power that's unleashed by the skull when they wish, in a fit of frustration, that they could change places.
