This rock and roll musical is set in a mythical Park City television station, sta-tion, and centers around the first day of taping of the "Parley Lamar Star Find Show." The central character of Parley Lamar, a returned Mormon missionary, has been developed through two previous productions at the Egyptian Egyp-tian Theater, "This is the Place," and "This is the Place (Book II)." Over 9,000 people flocked to the Egyptian to see those two productions. produc-tions. For "This is the Place (Take III)", Richard Jewkes, who served as artistic director at the Egyptian this past year, created the music and is director. He and Erica Zaf-farano, Zaf-farano, who designed the set, are co-producers. co-producers. Musical direction is by Michael Johnson. "This is the Place (Take III)" will perform Thursday through Saturday at 8 p.m. and Sundays at 7 p.m. General admission is $7adult, $6student and senior citizens, and $5children. For parents of year-round school children, there is still time to register your children in our reading program. The theme is "Have a Bearable Summer" and this year along with receiving a packet of materials, each child's name is entered into our weekly drawing box. Every Friday at 1 p.m., the name of one lucky winner is drawn. They can choose from among the many prizes donated by Park City businesses. The Friday drawing winners so far art? Amy Warren, : to Between the Covers Erin Evers, Lauren Bach and Shellene Parker. The winner of the Name That Bear contest was Bobbi Deal who submitted the name, Brown E. Bear for our Children's Room bear mascot. Other activities for children at the library include kids movies the week of August 10-17, a pet show and parade on August 5, and the summer reading party on August 13. New books for young readers at the library include Marion Dane Bauer's award winning novel, On My Honor, the gripping story of a young boy's search for choices when presented with a moral dilemma. The Maldonado Miracle by Theodore Taylor lets the reader in on the plight of migrant workers, illegal il-legal aliens and a "miracle" that happens for young Jose. For older readers, Margaret Mahy's two books should prove intriguing. In The Catalogue of the Universe, beautiful Angela May and her pal Tycho discover how two good friends can turn into one fabulous love story. Aliens in the Family weaves reality with fantasy as the alien, Bond, lands in the midst of the Raven family fami-ly and brings new dimensions to their summer vacation.
