Show Page A8 Thursday, December 4, 1986 Park Record City News SALE OF SURPLUS REAL PROPERTY The following described real property has been declared surplus by the Summit County Board of Commissioners and ordered to be sold at public auction. The property is 80 acres located on the North slope of the Uinta Mountains more particularly described as follows: The South 1 2 of the Southwest 14 of Section 14, Township 2 North, Range 1 1 East, Salt Lake Base and Meridian. The location is approximately 8 miles east of State Highway 150 and 6.5 miles South of the Utah-Wyoming border. The property is to be sold "as is" and Summit County makes no representations as to access to the property. Summit County will quit claim its interest in the property and offers no warranties, express or implied. The subject property will be sold at public auction to the highest cash bidder on Wednesday, December 31, 1986 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chambers of the Summit County Comission, Coalville, Utah. Questions concerning the property or sale may be directed to Summit County General Service Dept. 336-4451. Summit County reserves the right to reject any and all bids. Building permits, inspections decrease from last month Both the number of building permits per-mits and building inspections in Park City slumped this month over last, according to the city building department's monthly report. In November, the city conducted 146 building inspections compared to October's 224. Twenty-three building permits were issued this month, as opposed to 53 last month. The value of those 23 permits was $326,690, less than one-fourth of the $1,319,627 for October's permits. The kinds of building permits issued in November were: one single family, one demolishment, three signs, five alterations to dwellings, 11 alterations to commercial buildings, and one for unspecified purposes. The number of building inspections inspec-tions also fell from the same month of 1985, from 302 to 146 this year. Thirty-eight building permits were issued in November 1985. The total valuation to date for 1986 of $12,272,907 remains slightly more than one-third of 1985's $31,479,384. A report registered Nov. 25 said Priscilla Waterhouse had a pair of skiis stolen from the trunk of her car after she had just placed them there. The car was parked in the lot in front of Wolfes, and after she placed the skiis in the trunk to return to the store for another pair of skiis, they were taken. The skiis were valued at $350. In a traffic accident Nov. 24 on Highway 224 near the information kioske, Lisa Olsen drifted across the double yellow lines while travelling south, colliding with a northbound car driven by Tammy N. Zakis. Olsen suffered injuries to her head and wrist, and $4,000 of damage was done to her car. The Zakis car received $200 damage. Another accident was reported Nov. 25 after a vehicle driven by Spencer J. Hawkins backed into another driven by Kent D. Hatch at the Pinnacle. The Hatch car sustained sustain-ed $300 of damage. A case of vandalism was reported by Carol Wakefield Nov. 27 when she discovered a video machine at the Athletic Club was broken into. Money contained in the machine was also taken. . Salt Lake City resident Meima Derk was caught taking two World Cup banners from the Park City Ski Area Nov. 29. The banners were valued at $30, and Derk was cited for theft (a Class B misdemeanor) and released. A case of vehicle theft was reported Nov. 29 by Dale Whitton who said a citizen's band radio had been taken from his truck parked at 2166 Comstock. It was valued at $20. Phil Jameson was cited for retail theft at Skaggs Alpha Beta Nov. 29 after personnel there saw him take a tube of toothpaste. He was arrested. In a similar incident, Joanne Martin Mar-tin was arrested at Skaggs for taking $16.23 of items. That also occurred Nov. 29. A traffic accident blamed on snowy weather and snow-packed roads occurred Nov. 29 at 605 Wood-side Wood-side when a car travelling south and driven by Mary A. Harris sideswiped one being driven by Steve M. Conger. The Harris vehicle sustained $450 of damage, and Conger's Con-ger's car received $500 of damage, i A vehicle burglary incident was reported Nov. 30 by Richard Wagner who said his 1985 Ford parked at the Ramada Inn was broken into. About " WS cassette tapes, a tape case, a tool box and various hand tools, all ;; valued at $785, were taken, accor-? accor-? ding to Wagner. i Another case of criminal mischief :'. was also reported from the Ramada 1 Inn Nov. 30 after Gail Ingalls s discovered a rock had been thrown through the window of a 1986 Mack. The rock caused $600 of damage. The names of the finalists are not being released by the city at this time. Since the resignation last July of Tom Clyde as city attorney, his former assistant, Craig Smith, has been acting in that capacity. Struges is county liason This week the city is expected to formally appoint Dave Struges to the position of city liasion to the Summit County Commmission and the Summit County Planning Commission. The appointment will be until December of 1987. Struges will attend meeting of both groups and report to the city on the activites of the commissions. v Josephson moving to Chicago Ann Josephson, director of economic development for the Park City Chamber-Bureau, is leaving her position and relocating to Chicago effective Dec.5. The reason for moving, she said, is because her husband accepted a job in the area. Josephson is a Chicago native, and she said, "I have mixed emotions about leaving. I'll really miss the area, but it will sort of be like going home again." Josephson has lived in Utah for the past 10 years and has been in the Chamber position for the past year-and-a-half a position she is hoping to find in the Chicago area.
