YES NO Park City, UT 84060 Lewis and Symonds give While it is the entire board and staff who make the consolidated con-solidated ChamberBureau the effective organization it is today, this week's profile, third in the series, will highlight two very capable individuals who make sure that the efforts of the ChamberBureau Cham-berBureau are going in the right direction. Resort - rTDne The director in charge of Community Affairs is Tina Lewis, a former Chamber board member, turned staff, who is well acquainted with the operations and objectives objec-tives of the organization. Born in Seattle, Washington, Wash-ington, Tina moved to Salt Lake City at age eleven. She was an art history majorphilosophy minor at the University of Utah, and received excellent "on the job" experience working for Seventeen Magazine and McCall's Pattern Company, modeling and designing publicity and fashion shows. Needless to say, Tina's sewing ability is enviable. She has designed and produced many costumes for the infamous Chamber of Commerce Snowflaker's Ball and theatre productions like "My Fair Lady." Anyone who knows Tina knows her talents do not stop there! She has also served the community as Arts Festival executive committee commit-tee member, former Arts Festival director, KPCW board member, U.S. Film and Video Festival board member, city council-woman, council-woman, board member of the Park City Historical Society, Recreation Advisory Ad-visory board member, and founder and member of the Kimball Art Guild. She has also been appointed, by the Governor, to the State Library Commission. Specific projects she's; working on include the Park City Parks Master Plan, the Historic District guildelines, the Miners Hospital restoration, the business license ordinance, the OsmondUS Ski Team Celebrity Classic, and the Park City filming guidelines. What else? Well, Tina admits ad-mits she "likes to drive fast in fast cars," and, most of the time, her working style reflects this same en-v thusiasm for "getting things done." Executive Director Debby Symonds, has many valuable valu-able years of work experience experi-ence that have led to her current position with the ChamberBureau. Deb received her Bachelors Bache-lors degree in tourism, S uA s B direction to the Tina division of Hotel, Restaurant and Institutional Management Manage-ment from Michigan State University. While in Michigan, Michi-gan, she was employed as a travel agent for two years '-v j rt j!3 ;i j - Lewis, left, and Debby Symonds and upon moving to Salt Lake City, worked as a sales executive for the Hotel Utah. Since then, Deb has been employed as director of sales at The Yarrow Holiday Inn for two years, and for two more years has held her current position posi-tion as executive director direc-tor of the Convention Bureau, turned Chamber of CommerceConvention Bureau. Bur-eau. While it's taken Deb four years to begin ski lessons so that she can keep up with the rest of the staff on the slopes, at least she knows how to sell the industry, and sell it well. In all of her efforts, from marketing coordination and advertising to public relations and convention sales.
