For those women, the 60-mile round trip to Salt Lake to see a female doctor may be an inconvenience, but it's worth it. If you're one of those squeamish types, you may be interested to know that help has arrived. The Park City Community Clinic now has a trained nurse practitioner prac-titioner who can perform those intimate examinations, examina-tions, plus offer many other services. Parkites who have gone to the Community Clinic will be familiar with Diana Maxell. She's a registered nurse who has been the director of the clinic since it opened in October Oc-tober 1979. Now, Maxell said she may alter the schedule so that clinics Sre held more often than four times a month, or at hours that may be more convenient for the public. The Park City Community Clinic is a family planning program that offers such things as pregnancy testing, venereal disease screening, PAP tests and education. Those routine functions are performed at the scheduled clinics, Maxell said. But if a special problem arises, she said she now can deal with it ' instead of referring it to a local doctor.'. "If a patient has a special problem, say a vaginal infection, in-fection, I can see her now instead in-stead of referring her, or instead in-stead of her waiting until there is a clinic," she said. "If I pick up other things during an exam, say a heart murmur, then I can refer those things to a physician." Maxell stressed that women are not the only patients welcomed at the clinic. "I want to emphasize that we do VD testing for males, too, and that they also come in for family planning in- by Park City Chamber of Commerre Chamber Made Annual meeting With the arrival of the New Year, the consolidation of the Park City Chamber of Commerce and Convention and Visitor's Bureau is moving along smoothly.
