Show Page 16 Thursday, February 7, 1980 0 Date Changed For Snowbird Hockey Ski Racers Raise $3,000 In Benefit The Salt Palace exhibition game between Park City and Snowbird, originally planned for Feb. 14, has been changed to Saturday, Feb. 16 at 7:30 p.m., according to Park City spokesman Dick Beaufait. Because the game is not part of the regular league schedule, the teams will not be restricted to members of the current roster. Beaufait indicated several former members of the Silver Kings have expressed an interest in playing. In a league game played Sunday evening at Hygeia Iceland, Park City dropped a 5-3 decision to the same Snowbird squad. ' . Beaufait opened the scoring for the Silver Kings with a goal about five minutes into the first period. That slim lead held up until the second period when Snowbird scored three times to go ahead 3-1. Park City narrowed the deficit to 3-2 when Eric Smith scored before the end of the period. Snowbird added a fourth goal in the third period, but again the Silver Kings came back as Tim Miller scored with about five minutes left in the game. Miller's goal apparently ignited his team, as- Park City kept the puck, in the Snowbird zone in a frantic attempt to tie the score. However, Snowbird administered adminis-tered the coup de grace with about 40 seconds left after an icing call forced a faceoff near the Park City goal. Beaufait said; the puck seemed to bounce off a defender before slipping past surprised goalie Bill Healy. Healy had another spectacular spectac-ular game in the Park City net,, making several saves in ' what appeared to be impossible impos-sible situations. The Silver Kings will play trie Buzzards Sunday, Feb. 10 at 7:45 p.m. in the Salt Palace before facing Snowbird Snow-bird again the following Saturday.
