Do you think an annual Park City Oktoberfest will be a positive addition to the town's celebrations? Marilyn Powell I think the Oktoberfest is just another attempt to drum up more pre-ski season tourist business. Don Putman Very definitely, as long as it doesn't conflict with other events in the week. I think there should be events every weekend to draw people into town it helps the merchants. Ron Montgomery In this area the main Oktoberfest is held in Snowbird. Park City doesn't need one; people here drink beer every day, with or without an Oktoberfest. Dennis Feldman Maybe., .it depends. Don Gomes I think a fall celebration of some type is an excellent idea. Autumn is traditionally a slow time of year and an Oktoberfest will provide a good transition into winter. Rob Slettom (Trout) It's a good idea, but I don't know whether the Intermountain area can support sup-port another Oktoberfest in addition to the one at Snowbird. r Editor I U.sD (Only signed letters will be published.) Clinic Confusion Don Putman 2 , i. "V To The Editor: I wish to clear up the confusion con-fusion that has occurred over the recent decision by the Summit County Health Board to close the Family Plannine Clinic in Park City. As Medical Consultant to the Health Board, I provide a majority of the physician services to the Family Planning Plan-ning Clinic. That role has nothing to do, however, with mv practice of Farnilv Medicine at the Park City Family Heath Center. While the Family Planning Clinic is closed, the Family Health Center is active and fully operational. In fact, Dr. Robert Winn will soon be rejoining us permanently and we will soon be moving to larger, more permanent office space in the Skaggs Shopping Mall. I hope this eliminates some of the recent concern and confusion about the future of the Park City Family Health Center. Sincerely, Thomas L. Schwenk, M.D. Softball Thanks Dennis Feldman Editor: We would like to extend a ' big thank you to the following people for their invaluable in-valuable assistance during the men's Labor Day Softball tournament: O.D. Rory Simmons Park City's Oktoberfest September 22 Meeting on the heels of Monday's Miner Day celebrations, the organizers of Park City's next gala event refined plans for the town's first annual Oktoberfest, Oktober-fest, to be held Saturday, September 22 at City Park. Oktoberfest Chairperson Daryl Games announced Tuesday that Park City's version of the German holiday will officially get underway with the tapping of a keg of Lowenbrau beer at 6:00 p.m. At approximately ap-proximately the same time, runners of two Oktoberfest races a 13 mile half-marathon half-marathon and a six-mile fun run will be arriving at a City Park finish.
