When the Snowflower Condominiums burned, they did a great job in keeping the fire from spreading. Without their efforts ef-forts and expertise I am sure much more would have been lost. Including at least a ii Three Kings Condominiums, and the second building of Snowflower. Thanks from the Three Kings Board of Directors, the Three Kings Owners, and myself. Sincerely, Mike Draper building number i of the Manager Modest Proposal Editor: It seems that I've been hearing lots of complaints here in Park City about local parking and traffic problems. I live in Los Angeles where everything is asphalted and driving is a way of life; therefore I think I'm well qualified to make some recommendations on improving Park City's street problems based on observations I've made during my three-week vacation here. These recommendations, which I believe will help Parkites move into life's fast lans,-are lans,-are as follow: 1) Widen Hwy 224, Park Ave. and Main Street into six lane roadways. There are several old buildings that stand too close to the present roads for this to be done so public domain should be exercised to condemn con-demn the property and have these wretched progress impeders demolished. One particular eyesore is a very old, red, four or five story wood structure north of the junction of Park Ave. and Main Street. The building is obviously vacant. Why not tear it down and put something useful like a parking lot or, better yet, a McDonald's restaurant? i 2) A 1 clover-leaf ramp should be built at the intersection inter-section of roads near the Holiday Inn. This would be for aesthetic ap pealsomething to look at from atop the ski hill as much as to facilitate traffic flow. C) (sic) All pedestrians, especially joggers, must be ticketed if they are caught on the roadsides or shoulders. The joggers are the worst. I've tried several times to discourage them from their sweaty habit by driving close enough to strike them with my car mirror. But, evidently runners run-ners aren't a very brite (sic) breed for they haven't gotten the message and are still out hogging the road shoulders. (How can I pass some slow jerk ahead of me if some jogger is blocking my path on the right? I mean, like I might as well own a VW instead of my supercharged Camaro.) As for the walkers, if they or their parents can't afford a car then they don't belong in Park City. 4) There is an old, very homely building near the resort parking lot. Someone told me it is a minor (sic) hospital. Well, it should be torn down and made into a major hospital; Park City will need all the hospital bedspace it can get in order to handle the increase of traffic accidents that will accompany my recommended recom-mended road expansions. Also a larger hospital will be Continued On Page 8 ZONE CHANGE The Park City Council will hold a public hearing at 7 p.m. on April 5 in the Prospector Square Ski and Convention Center to consider a rezoning application for 1.24 acres at the northeast north-east corner of Empire Avenue and Silver King Drive. A change from general commerical to recreation commerical is being requested. COMMUNITY EDUCATION Community Education classes in Gourmet Cooking, Typing and Shop are in the making.
