Kemp defeated ski racer Jordan Swenson 10-5 in the first-to-ten finals of the men's A class. On Monday, Arenskov posted a 10-6 win over Judy Root to take the women's A final. The men's B title was won by Marvin Ratcliff who defeated Stewart Hayduk 10-8 10-8 and the women's B crown went to Gale Birch, who bested her daughter Wendy 10-8 in the final match. Lisa Warr defeated Karlynn Glidden by a comfortable com-fortable 10-2 margin for women's C honors while Shell Thomas downed Rich Groth 10-6 for the men's C title. Men's B champ Marvin Ratcliff Hammond Gets Ski Position K TO unit, J iJ U I I m 'J tl Mi a, Curt Hammond, 25, Seattle Wa., has been appointed to the ' newly created USSAUSST position of Alpine Domestic Administrator Ad-ministrator by USST Alpine Director Hank Tauber and USSA Alpine Vice-President Dr. Leland Sosman. Hammond Ham-mond begins September 1 as manager of the Alpine Technical Office which was recently established by the U.S. Ski Association and the U.S. Ski Team in Park City. The Alpine Technical Office Of-fice will serve as secretariat for FIS and USSA alpine communications and will provide administration, information in-formation and clerical sup port for domestic alpine policy guidelines as established by the USSA Alpine Competitions Committee Com-mittee and the FIS. The Technical Office will be jointly funded by the USSA and USST, and as Domestic Administrator Hammond will be a member of the U.S. Alpine Team Staff. Hammond is a 1974 graduate of the Unviersity of Washington and in 1978 he earned a M.A. in Business Administration from the University of Puget Sound. He competed for the University Univer-sity of Washington; was coach at Stevens Pass, Wa., from 1972-74 and Director of their ski school in 1975. He was Competition Director for the Pacific Northwest Ski Association of the USSA 1976-78. He is a member of PSIA and accompanied the U.S. team as an Associate Coach during the March 1978 Europa Cup races. Commenting on the appointment ap-pointment for the USSA, Dr. Sosman of Concord, Ma., said: "The Technical Office is another step in the close cooperation between the USSA and USST in assuring the best possible management for U.S. alpine racing. The USSA retains the administration of commercial commer-cial sponsorships for domestic tournaments while the admministration of all other domestic alpine activities ac-tivities will be under the jurisdiction of the Alpine Domestic Administrator in Park City."
