Furbearer Dates The Utah Wildlife Board has approved regulations for the 1977-78 furbearer trapping season. The legal taking of mink and beaver is scheduled to begin November 1. 1977. and continue through April 30. 1978. Due to numerous damage reports. Wasatch County has extended the trapping of beaver and mink to run from October 1. 1977 to May 15. 1978. The trapping season for marten begins November 15. 1977. and extends through February 28. 1978. In addition to the regular trapping license, a free marten permit must also be obtained from any Division office prior to the taking of marten. Please note; The state of Utah is closed to the trapping of otter during the 1977-78 furbearer season. In case you'd like to know, last year. 384 trapping licenses were sold in the state of L'tah. Of those license holders, (iti.7 percent actually trapped furbearers.
