Carrie Hickman and Dave Buchanan proved themselves the most potent pair in the Park City Racquet Club mixed doubles competition held over the weekend. Hickman and Buchanan downed Kay Wade and Annie Hebson 6-3, 7-5 to capture the "A" title. In the "A" consolation match, Marlene Ligare and Lynn Dugan bounced back Big Game Seasons Set The Utah Board of Big Game Control has established the regulations and season dates for the 1977 big game animal hunts following a week of public hearings throughout the State. Deer One buck deer per hunter, regardless of the method of hunting, will be the statewide rule for deer hunting during the 1977 deer season. The general rifle deer season will begin at dawn on Saturday, Oct. 22, and will last through Nov. 1 an 11-day season. The only exceptions to the buck only rule will be the special regulation requiring that a deer have four points or better to be harvested in the Henry Mountain unit (deer herd unit 52) and the special permit hunts established by the Board. Units two, five, six and eight have tentative schedules for 450 permits on five day notice hunts that may be called if large numbers of deer migrate into the units and create potential hazards to range and agricultural areas. The Board gave the Division of Wildlife Resources authority to call emergency hunts as needed. The Club team looked a little shaky in the field, but once again strong hitting and alert base running allowed them to run away with the game. Kathy Kocinski made several great plays at shortstop short-stop for the club and Carole Linkins pitched her fourth win. The Coal & Lumber team is looking better every game, but is still waiting for victory no. l. Judging from their performance Sunday, the wait won't be long. In the second game of the morning the Rec. Dept. completely dominated their contest with the Red Banjo team, winning 20-9.
