This year the concert will be performed MondayDec. 12 at Timberline Middle School, 500 W. Canyon Crest Rd. at 7 p.m. There is no charge to attend and families are welcome. The community choir will be directed by Marvin Payne, and the concert will also feature easemble and solo numbers by members of the Alpine Community. Com-munity. The audience will be invited at times to join in singing familiar famil-iar hymns and Christmas songs. "Joyful Christmas Sounds" Is a community tradition which was started in 1979 by Joan Lindsay. AMERICAN FORK 5 Browns to perform The 5 Browns will perform Dec. 16 at an event designed to premier Buick's new Lucerne automobile. Violinist Bryan Hernandez Luch will join Ryan, Melody, Gregory, Deondra and Desirae Brown in a mini-concert at the premier celebration to be hosted by Gregory Buick, 629 E. 1000 South, American Fork. "We look forward to celebrating cel-ebrating this premier with the incredible talents of the 5 Browns," said Kelley Gregory, event host and organizer. "Their shared passion for music, mu-sic, family and community will add holiday magic to this special spe-cial event and season." The five siblings, former residents of Alpine, gained international in-ternational attention while they were all attending New York's prestigious Julliard School of Music at the same time. I Chauntenettes to perforin in American Fork The Chaun-tenette Chaun-tenette Women's Chorus will perform music of the holiday season at a concert on Wednesday Wednes-day at 7 p.m. in the Alpine Tabernacle, 110 East Main St., American Fork. UTAH VALLEY STATE COLLEGE Farley Family Christmas James Arrington will return with the "The Farley Family Christmas" Dec. 10, 12, 15, 16 and 17 at 7:30 p.m. in the Ra-gan Ra-gan Theater. Arrington, an assistant professor pro-fessor in the Department of Theatrical Arts for Stage and Screen, is the creator, director and performer of the one-man show and has performed "The Farley Family Christmas" for the past 10 years in various locations. The audience will play the part of the family while Arrington Ar-rington plays the part of certain members that are commonly com-monly found in families. Santa's Workshop to premiere The Utah Valley State College Col-lege Theatrical Arts for Stage and Screen Department presents pres-ents "Santa's Workshop," a new play written by James Air Conditioning Turn to the Experts: Arrington, assistant professor in the Department of Theatrical Arts for Stage and Screen, and his wife, Lisa. "Santa's Workshop" Work-shop" will premiere Dec. 19 and 20 at 7 p.m. in the Ragan Theater. The production is a 55-minute play set at the North Pole. The elves have to save Christmas when Santa decides to retire. All characters, such as Mr. and Mrs. Claus and the elves will be played by UVSC students as well as three children from Salem, Utah; Braden, Chantell and Dalen Ficklin. Following each performance there will be photo opportunities with various vari-ous characters from the play for $10, photos will be available that night for pick up. I Wasatch Christmas Concert Utah Valley State College catches the spirit of Christmas with Utah musicians Ryan Shupe and the RubberBand, Peter Brienholt, James Conlee and Eclipse for the fifth annual Wasatch Christmas Concert at the McKay Events Center Friday Fri-day at 7:30 p.m. The concert is produced by James Conlee in conjunction with UVSC Student Government. Govern-ment. "This year's concert will let the audience capture the spirit of Christmas," Conlee said. The concert will feature classic Christmas songs in the artists' styles. The audience will also join the traditional sing-along with the performers on the last number, "Silent Night." Shupe, Brienholt, Conlee and Eclipse have performed together togeth-er for eight years and have enjoyed putting on this local Christmas concert. "When you come to our show, you get the feeling that we are best friends. We enjoy performing together and the audience feels that, and we all have a blast," Conlee said.
