Brock also holds the honor of being the firat Lindon man to finiah the race. Ryan Long of. Lindon finished second with a time of 19: 10; Brady Whittingham was third, covering the course in 18:22. . Shari Long, 19, Lindon, was the overall women's winner, as well as the first Lindon woman. Shari's winning time was 19:40. Kaci Jensen, Provo, and Rachel Haines finished second and third, respectively, with times of 20:52 and 21:04. The boys and girls winners of the Half Mile Children's Race were 11-year-old Josh Patten and 12-year-old Amy Sorenaen, both of Lindon. Josh'a winning time was 3:11 and Amy lead the girls with a time of 3:21. . This year's 2 Mile Walk drew 15 participants, with Mary Jane Helms of Orem leading the way. She walked the route in 24:37. The Steve Patten and Richard Raun families, both of Lindon, won the Family Participation Award. Each family was awarded a Utah Centennial Dutch Oven for having the moat immediate family members participating in all the eventscombined. The Patten family had six participants and the Raun family and the Raun family had five. Pleasant Grove was represented well. In the Mustang League, the Blue Jays, coached by Lane Gray, took first place in the tournament at Lehi. The Tigers took fourth place in Spanish Fork, the White Sox took second and the Dodgers took sixth place in Provo. In Ephraim, the Giants took seventh. The Pleasant Grove A's won the UBBA State Championship in Payson this year. They continued their undefeated record in regular season Pinto division play by going though the four day tournament without a loss. Monday evening, the A's beat Moroni, then on Tuesday: they played one of the home tsamfthe- Payson Rockies, and beat them 9-3. Wednesday's game was a close one. with the A's defeating the Spanish Fork Red Sox 6-3. This put the team in the championship game on Thursday night where they faced an excellent Payson Angels team. But the Pleasant GroveA's played the game perfectly and came out the championawitha6-lwin. They finished the year with a total of 18 wins and no losses. The White Sox took eighth place in Payson, the Mariners fourth place in Provo, the Expos third in Ephraim and the Marlins seventh in Spanish Fork. The Pony League played in two different tournaments, Payson and Provo.
