Show Review - Wednesday, April 8, 1092 Page 6 Couple to report Sunday on mission at Winter Quarters Wayne and Geraldine Peay, Lindon, have recently returned from the Missouri Independence Mission, Mis-sion, assigned to serve at Winter Quarters in Omaha, Neb. They will speak in sacrament service on Sunday, April 12, at 1 p.m. in the Lindon 8th Ward Chapel, 100 S. 500 West. All friends and relatives are invited to the homecoming and open house that will be held the same afternoon at the family home, 86 S. 800 West, Lindon. . The couple had a wonderful experience conducting tours at Winter Quarters. They met many new people and even some from home who were passing through the area. Elder B. J. McAllister to speak Sunday Elder Burton J. McAllister, son of Norman and Gloria McAllister of - Pleasant Grove, has been called to serve in the New Zealand Wellington IDS Mission. "BJ" will speak in a sacrament service on Sunday, April 12, at 1 1:30 a.m. in the Manila Ward Chapel, 3986 W. 8800 North, Pleasant Grove. An open house will beheld at his home from 4 to 6 p.m. Friends and relatives are in vited to attend. Workshops planned for women's conference "You Can Do It!' is the theme of the Pleasant Grove Stake Women;s Conference, which will be held Saturday, April 1 1, at 9 a.m. in the Pleasant Grove Stake Center, 275 E. 500 South, Pleasant Grove. The meeting is for women 16 years old and older. David Christensen, a native of Pleasant Grove and popular speaker, will give the keynote address. ' Workshops will begin at 10 a.m. and those attending may select three of seven workshops, according to personal preference and individual need. The topics for the workshops are varied to help enrich personal life and will provide a formula to help the sisters reach personal goals, as well as meet the challenge by President Thomas S. Monson in a recent satellite broadcast in celebration of the sesquicentennial of the Relief Society. His challenge included sharing Elnora W. Gray to be honored at 88th birthday open house Sun. Friends, neighbors, and relatives are invited to an open house in honor of Elnora Gray on Sunday, April 12, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the home of her son, Glen Gray, 9632 West 8170 North, Lehi. The occasion occa-sion is Elnora's 88th birthday. Elnora was born in Pleasant Grove to Hans and ; Ida Williamson,"back before time was invented," she laughs. She was the oldest of seven children chil-dren and loved riding her wagons and bikes up and down "Monkey Town's" hills. She was 16 when she rode afloat as one of the first Strawberry Straw-berry Day queens, chosen, she says, because of her waist-length strawberry straw-berry blonde hair. She married Winford Preston Grayon Jan. 5, 1924, and the couple settled in Lehi where they have lived every since. They farmed for a living, and raised four children: Mary Elma, Winfod, Ida, and Glen, who all still live in Lehi. Shehas 17 grandchildren and 46 great grandchildren. grand-children. Elnora is a firm believer in working work-ing hard and keeping busy. She's experienced many joys and adversities adver-sities in her journey through life, and she has perservered through hard-times andflness, rattle snakes and skunks. She is a multi-talented multi-talented person, always willing to give freely of her time and talents for the happiness of others. Barton Shumway Youth earns Eagle Barton Shumway, son of Douglas Glade and Leone Shumway of Lindon, Lin-don, received his Eagle Scout award at an Eagle Court of Honor held in the Lindon 4th Ward on March 29. Barton is a member of Troop 160. For his Eagle service project, he i and members of his troop painted a fence at the Lindon Care Center.
