Final arrangements have been made with producer Bill McKee of Savory, Wyoming to bring his championship stock to Pleasant Grove for the June 16, 17, .and 18 showings. He boasts one bull that hasn't been ridden In over 230 times, and some of the best cowboys in the business have tried. Timp Riders was held recently with Bill Keetch, president, presiding. The meeting meet-ing was held at the home of Darrell Frampton. ' Several matters of business were discussed. A work day was set for the club members to clear brush from the hillside at the Lindon Park. To raise funds, earlier this month, club members completed a tree trimming project for Verl Christiansen. It will be held as usual on the evening of Memorial Day, May 30th, . at the rodeo grounds, where cash prizes will be awarded awar-ded the Queen and two attendants, attend-ants, but this year, eight other girls will be chosen to ride their mounts in the nightly Grand Entries and parades as flag bearers. 1 s Mr. Gillman and Vernon Ah-man, Ah-man, secretary, recently , met with the following representatives representa-tives of riding clubs in this area who pledged the support of their respective groups, to make the "all new" 1966 rodeo a success: Boyd Walker, Utah County Sheriffs Posse; BUI Keetch and Jim Cullimore, Mt. Timp Riders; Rid-ers; Arnold (Jim) ; Green, Roughouts; and Dean Peterson, Pleasant Grove Riding Gubr Special Program i Planned at Lindon School February 9 LINDON A special program will be held at the Lindon School, Wednesday, Feb. 9, at 7:00 p.m. The theme for the program will be "What America Amer-ica Means to Me." .This will be given by the school children, and the community. It will bo sponsored by the Lindon PTA. Special honored guests will be Mayor Joseph Christiansen, and Councilmen Lowell Gillman, Gill-man, Lon I loo ley, Dean Adams, Leon Walker and Nyle Harris. A special award will be given giv-en to essay winners and they will be asked to give their winning win-ning essays on the theme. Smith, Daryl Spencer, Doris Schow and Arza Adams. . Junk Cars' Will Be Hauled Away Free, Mayor Says Mayor Paul T. Fordham has declared open season on old and worse than useless "junk cars" in, Pleasant Grove. He " made the announcement Tuesday Tues-day morning. "The perplexing problem of what to do with the old 'clunkers 'clunk-ers has now been solved, the Mayor said. He explained that they were needed to extend and reinforce the breakwater at the Utah Lake Timp Marina, south of American Fork. Citizens who are troubled with one or more of these useless use-less wrecks, should call the city hall, 785-3311 and arrangements will be made to pick up the junkers and cart them to Timp Marina. This service will cost nothing to the owners, the Mayor May-or emphasized. Paul Jones, Pleasant Grove, newly elected president of the Timp Marina, said he was happy hap-py about the prompt response of Pleasant Grove City. "We need the Junkers urgently," he said, "since Utah Lake is rising rapidly." He explained that Timp Marina Mar-ina has a new clubhouse, 10 acres of land, two launching ramps and 1,000 feet of breakwater break-water pier. Timp Marina was organized as a non-profit recreational rec-reational enterprise in 1959. Other local newly elected officers of-ficers include LaMar Edwards, Pleasant Grove, secretary and LeRoy V. Harris, Pleasant Grove, director. Timp Marina vice president is Alvin Metcalf, Salt Lake City and Wayne Durrant, American Fork, is treasurer. The election was held Jan. 18, Mr. Jones said. . Winners Are Named in Dental Health Poster Contest at PGHS Winners have been named in the local poster contest sponsored spon-sored by the Provo District Dental Auxiliary. The posters were painted in harmony with the theme, "Creativity With a Dental Accent." Winners were as follows: First place, Lois Rayl, daughter daugh-ter of Mr. and Mrs. James Rayl. Second place, Marilyn Fowles daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Don Fowles. . . . . Double M Club Meets In Lehi Thursday The1 Double M Club held their meeting last Thursday in Lehi. A delicious meal was served ser-ved by hostess Janet Wells. The evening was spent in discussing dis-cussing child care. Plans and preparations for the next meeting meet-ing were also made. .. Visitors from Cedar City on Weekend . Mr. and Mrs. Clint Matheson (Helen Jo Bott) of Cedar City, visited in Pleasant Grove and Lindon during the last weekend. The young couple recently moved mov-ed to Cedar City, where both are employed. Helen Jo, who was injured in an automobile accident six weeks ago, also had the wires removed from her jaw and teeth, while he was here. Funeral Rites for Hannah Bardsley Held on Tuesday l Funeral services for Hannah Marie Bardsley, 68, were held Tuesday at 11 a.m. In the Olpln-Sundberg Olpln-Sundberg Mortuary, Pleasant Grove, under the direction of Bishop Carl Ringger of the IDS Third Ward. Mrs. Bardsley died Thursday, Jan. 27 at 2:30 p.m. in a local nursing home, from a heart attack. at-tack. Speakers who paid tribute to the deceased as a devoted wife, mother and church worker were Ruby Fugal and Bishop Ring-ger. Ring-ger. Mrs. Carol Gillman played an organ solo, "Beautiful Isle of Somewhere," and Nancy Ekins sang "That Wonderful . Mother of Mine," accompanied by -Maxine Fugal. Family prayer was led by Calvin Walker, Claude Gillies asked the invocation and Don Smith offered the benediction. The grave in the Orem City . Cemetery was. dedicated by Harry Wadley. Pallbearers were Jerry Wad- . ley, Bud and Raymond Gillman, Lonnie Dixon, Keith Miner and Claude Gillies. , Flowers were cared for by the Third Ward Relief Society. Mrs. Bardsley was born Oct. 25, 1897, Monroe, Sevier County, Coun-ty, a daughter of Christian Jensen Jen-sen and Brigitte Rasmussen Steinberg. She married Delroy Bardsley May 25, 1922 in Manti, and the marriage was later sol emnized in the Manti Temple. .Mr. Bardsley died Sept. 20, 1955 Survivors include daughters, son, Mrs. Lonnie (Delores) Dixon, Dix-on, Jackson, Miss.-; Delmar D., Westminster, Calif.; Mrs. Buddy Bud-dy (Joyce) Gillman, Provo; Mrs., Jerry (Lillian) Wadley, Pleasant Grove; eight grandchildren; grand-children; brothers, sisters, Vermont, Ver-mont, Bountiful; Albert, May-field;" May-field;" Mrs. Fred (Arna) Schlaphfer, Manti; Mrs. Arvel (Melba) Hansen, Ephraim, Guy of .
