Mr. Huntsman is a 1961 graduate grad-uate of Pleasant Grove High School. He was captain of the football team, captain of the wrestling team and was named nam-ed Sweater King. He attended Snow College where he played football, and is a graduate of Weltech College of Electronics. He has recently returned from a mission in the Southeast Mexican Mex-ican Mission, and is currently enrolled ur'BYU. He plans to continue with his studies there. A wedding reception is being planned for Wednesday, Dec 29, from eight until ten p.m., in the Lindon Ward Chapei. All friends are cordially invited to attend. Vicki, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Jaynes, left PI. Grove May 29 and returned to the United States Nov. 3. Sponsored Spon-sored by the lions Clubs of this area, Vicki was officially taken care of by the Lions of New Zealand. During her visit to the South Pacific area, she also took advantage of the oppor-,, tunity and stopped off at Hawaii, Ha-waii, American and Western Samoa, Fiji and Tahiti. Colored slides were shown of the interesting and scenic places plac-es she visited during her five-month five-month stay in the Pacific. She reported that she had a very wonderful experience, but was thankful to be home. Final arrangements were made to hold the annual Christmas Christ-mas party Wednesday, Dec. 22 at the home of Mr. and Mrs. George Jaynes, with the dinner din-ner to be catered. Also, Robert Seer e tan was introduced in-troduced as Lions Club Secretary, Secre-tary, to replace Clifford C. Hales, Hal-es, who has resigned because of other responsibilities. Back from Six Months Training In Army Douglas Barrett, son of Dr. and Mrs. Doyle Barrett, has returned re-turned home after six-months training at Fort Ord, California. He completed his training at Ft. Belvoir, Virginia, graduating graduat-ing third highest in his class in maintenance, repair and operation oper-ation of heavy equipment. He is now employed at Pleasant Grove Lumber and Supply Co. SDA Presents Check to Police Auxiliary for Radio Purchase A check for $500 was presented pre-sented Monday night by Vernon Ahman, secretary-treasurer of Strawberry Days Association, to the Pleasant Grove Auxiliary Police. Dean Jensen accepted the check for the Auxiliary. The money will be used to pay for a recently installed two-way two-way radio in the Auxiliary's Ambulance, Mr. Jensen said. . Eldon Johnson, Strawberry Days Association president, and Doris Nielsen Honored for Service at Prison Mrs. Doris Nielson, Pleasant Grove, was recently awarded the traditional five-year pin for "meritorious service" at the Women's Facility at Utah State Prison. She was the second women to receive the award since the women's section was opened. Mrs. Nielson lives with her husband Clarence, and her five husband Clarence at 598 East Center in PI. Grove and devotes her life to her family, her job and spends considerable time working in her flower garden. Mrs. Nielson has been a Utah State employee for the past. 17 years. lines of - -1 t t; l j Mayor Paul T. Mr. Johnson stated that cooperation co-operation and unified effort on the part of all concerned made the 1965 Strawberry Days celebration cele-bration one of the most successful success-ful in its 43 year history. Even the weather cooperated this year, Mr. Johnson said. Mr. Johnson also said that the Association would welcome the suggestions of citizens as to worthw hile projects in the Manila-Pleasant Grove-Lindon area. He expressed appreciation for outstanding support of church and civic organizations and desires de-sires that such support continue in the future. Dalton Reports Dogs Still Killing Sheep Don Mack Dalton reported on Tuesday; that marauding dogs had recently killed one of his prize ewes and severely injured injur-ed two others at his ranch home in Manila. Three of the killers were seen on his property and they looked like well-fed, well cared for house dogs, Mr. Dalton stated. "Someone is violating the Utah County dog ordinances," he said.
