Inclement In-clement weather and close of the fall harvest season is held responsible for the decline, according ac-cording to LeRue Thurston, manager of the Provo employment employ-ment office. Work cutback in agriculture, construction and food and related re-lated products have been noted during November, Mr. Thurston Thurs-ton said. Employment for holiday sales and tax collections and hiring in retail trade, services and government provided the stimulus stim-ulus for increasing employment in these categories. County work charts also show a 41 per cent increase in non-farm non-farm employment over November, Novem-ber, 1962. This increase stemmed stem-med from -die rapid physical growth of BYU and considerable consider-able improvement in steel manufacture. man-ufacture. The current total of 2,700 unemployed un-employed is up more than 11 per cent over 30 days ago; but is a 21 per cent decrease from the same period last year, Mr. Thurston said. Employment in December is expected to continue its seasonal season-al decline in response to a discontinuation dis-continuation of farm activities along with normal winter cutbacks cut-backs in outside activity, he noted. VIKINGS LOSE TO WASATCH FRIDAY Judge Memorial jumped on the Vikings 76-48 Wednesday Wednes-day night on the home floor to run the losing string of the Vikings to three straight. This was the first home game for the P.G. players, who are not yet able to get going with a winning score. Drat the animals! Last time it was a Bird, this time a Fish. Fish potted 17 points to top all shooters for the evening, which was far short of the 32 points scored by SpringvilleV Bird in the Viking-Devil contest on Nov. 29. It was the universal ability of all the Wasps to hit the bucket that really sank the Viking ship. The Wasatch coach used a total of 11 players and everyone scored points. Conversely Coach Don Crump also gave the nod to 11 players but all but 4 went scoreless. Lloyd Hooley and Maurice Keetch were best for the Vikes with 15 each. Grant Atkinson got 13 and Dee Jense 3. Wasatch dominated the game throughout, holding an advantage advan-tage of 4, 4, 11 and 20 points at the end of the four respective respec-tive quarters. PI.
