C R. Clark, Mr. and Mrs. Randall Ran-dall Shipley, Mra. Reuben Tom-linaon Tom-linaon of Pleasant Grove, and Mra. Edna Harrla of St. George. They visited places of Interest along the way to Acapuloo, Mexico. Mex-ico. They had a guide and enjoyed en-joyed the sights, Including a bull fight In Mexico City. They commented on the poverty pov-erty and backwardness of the people. The roads are made by hand, gravel being spread and oil poured by hand, clothers are washed by hand, etc. Local Clubwomen Represent District At State Meeting Mrs. Eugene' W. Allred and Margaret Hayes represented the Tlmpanogos first district at a day-long, state-wide meeting of the Utah Federation of Women's' Clubs at thte University of Utah Union Building, Saturday, Feb. 2. Featured speaker was Mrs. Helen Livingston Smith, New York City, director, National Organization Or-ganization Division, CARE, who is working directly with the National Na-tional Federation of Women's PL Grove Garden Club Holds Monthly Meeting Last Monday The monthly meeting of the Pleasant Grove Garden Club was hold Monday evening at the home of Mrs. Mary Shoemaker. The objective of the club was discussed by the members and the project for 1063 was decided upon. The planting of a rose garden gar-den on the grounds of the city library was talked over. '.Mrs. Myrth Condor from Humphries Hum-phries Floral in American Fork demonstrated the making of corsages cor-sages and 'tlelng of bows. Letters were read regarding the Spring Festival, called Natures Na-tures Fling, to be held in the Terrace Ter-race Ballroom, March 11 , 12, 13. Refreshments were served by the Hostess. Members present were Alice Simper, Claudia Brown, Ivadell Tomllnson, Mavis Hamilton, The-ora The-ora Young, Cora Messersmith, Barbara Fowles, Jane Armitstead Helen Lohman, Berta Thornton, Ida Pterson, Vera Ball, Emma Harper, Lucille Hillman, LaRue Smith, Sadie Chandler, .LaPriel Morford, and three guests, Velma GUlman, Myrth Condor and Fern Hicks. Clubs on a Literacy Program for eight foreign countries. American Legion to Former Local Man Hold District IV . Regaining Health Initiation In Lehl After Oct Accident An American Legion District IV Initiation will be held Friday, , February 22 at 8 p.m. in the Lehl National Guard Armory, according accord-ing to Lowell Duvoll, Commander Command-er of Pleasant Grove Post 70. All Legionalrea who have not been initiated previously, are invited in-vited to present themselves for the ceremonies. Wives of Legionalrea Legion-alrea also are cordially invited. There will be no charge for the" refreshments, but those who attend at-tend should make reservations with Commander Duvall on or before Feb. 15. Commander Duvall also announced an-nounced that the regular meeting of Post 70 will be held Thursday night, Feb. ,J4 at 7 p.m. at the home of Glen Matthews. He stated that plans for completing com-pleting Uie 1963 membership campaign cam-paign and the March Legion party par-ty would receive consideration. Friends of Phyl Morrill, son of Mr. and Mrs. Delos Morrill, will be glad to know he Is slowly regaining re-gaining his health, after being hospitalized since Oct. 26. He was seriously injured on that date in a harvesting accident at George, Washington, where he lives with his wife and seven children. On Feb. 6, his leg", which was shattered in the accident, was amputated below the knee and he is now recuperating from surgery. sur-gery. His father made the trip to Washington to be with his at this time. He arrived home Feb. 7 and reports Phyl Is doing fine. He is still hospitalized at the Deaconess Hospital, Wenatchee, Washington California Man Here For Funeral Dies ' After Heart Attack Carl Deltlaf passed away in the American Fork Hospital Monday afternoon, of a heart attack suffered suf-fered a week before. He had come to Pleasant Grove to attend the funeral services and burial of his brother's wife, Mrs. Andrew Deltlaf. His body Hfe returned to Son Bernardino, Calif., for burial. Visit Friends Here Mr. and Mrs. Richard McDonald McDon-ald are making an extended visit with friends and relatives in PL Grove from their home in Casper,1 ; Wyo. Mrs. McDonald, the former Helen Freeman, lived in Pleasant . Grove until her marriage. At the present they are visiting visit-ing with Helen's brother, Milton ' Freeman. Other brothers and sisters sis-ters who live in Pleasant Grove are Reed and Bill Freeman and Mrs. Chloe West and Mrs. Ruby Neilson,. Home from Hospital Connie Fordham, young daughter daugh-ter of Mr. and Mrs. Blake Ford-ham, Ford-ham, has returned to her home after being confined to the Utah Valley Hospital for the past week for a series of tests. ' A daughter was born to H. Lynn and Marilyn Hogan Hansen on Feb. 5. A daughter was born to Arland LaRay and Vera Patricia Clark Shaw on Feb. 8. Local people who received care at the hospital during the last week are Lynn Peck, Jessie M.
