All this talk about the water freezing freez-ing in Hobble Creek, comes rather late. JThe question of freezing was and full discussed this spring before Hobble Creek was dicided upon to furnish power. A very peculiar accident happened recently to Virgil Kelly at his home in Deseret. He and his son were handling hay with a hay-hook, when the boy, who was above, fell wilh the hook in bis hand. Mr. Kelly looked up at the time, and the hook struck him iu the mouth, p'ercinghis tongue, and coming out under the chin. It was a serious wound, but no dangerous complications set in. REFUSE RESIGNATION The First Presbyterian church of this City held a congregational meeting meet-ing last Sunday to consider the resignation re-signation of the pastor, Rev. Dr. Bailey. Bai-ley. The report of the elders' session recommending acceptance of the resignation, re-signation, was voted down by a vote of 12 to J3. C, R. Newton was appointed ap-pointed committeeman to represent the majority, and Robert Miller to represent the minority at the next meeting of Presbytery. The resignar tion of Dr. Bailey is the result of a trouble iu the church of longstanding. Dr. Bailey found the trouble here when he accepted the charge, several years ago. He has not been able to harmonize the factions, which is the cause of him tendering his resignation. The matter will now be settled by the Presbytery, which will meet soon.
