Sponsored by the Spring- ville Arts Commission, the one-hour one-hour concert will be held on Sunday, Sun-day, Dec. 7, at 5 p.m. The concert is free to the public. Long-time handbell follower, Christine Anderson, has been attending the Utah Valley Handbell Hand-bell Choir's concerts for the past six years. "The Christmas season is not complete without going to a handbell choir concert," she said. "Not only are the concerts fun to listen to, they're also fun to watch. I like the family-friend ly environment at each concert, and I enjoy the variety of the music mu-sic and techniques." The Utah Valley Handbell Choir was formed in 1993. The choir consists of 56 bells, cast in bronze or aluminum, and each tuned to a single note. Choir members volunteer their time, and starting in September meet for two hours each week to prepare pre-pare for the Christmas concert season. As a community group, the choir is free to perform at a variety of settings, including churches, festivals and fairs, corporate cor-porate parties and public venues. The Kiwanis Club is asking citizens to give generously to the Sub-for-Santa project as there are many in need at this time. Hobble Creek Canyon parks Springville City will be accepting accept-ing applications from residents of Springville for reservations for the summer of 2009. Applicants Appli-cants must provide the name, address and 'daytime phone number num-ber of the person desiring the reservation and the name of the group for which the reservation is being made. Please, only one coupon per event! Any duplicate applications will be discarded, causing one of the applications to be placed at the end of the list. The person submitting the coupon cou-pon for a reservation must be a Springville resident, must be the person making the reservation and the person who will be responsible re-sponsible for the group using the park. All reservations must be paid in full at the time of scheduling. All applications must be in the Springville City Offices at 50 S. Main or the Community Services Servic-es Building at 443 S. 200 East, by Wednesday, Dec. 31, 2008 at 5 p.m. A random drawing will be held and number, date and scheduling appointment time will be assigned. A schedule will be posted at City Hall and the Community Services Building, and the city will attempt to notify each applicant appli-cant by telephone. Incomplete, andor duplicate coupons will be discarded. The opening reception takes place Dec. 5, from 6 to 9 p.m. - Weber has been a professional profes-sional artist working in pastel for more than 40 years. Since she moved to Utah many of her favorite scenes emphasize Utah's rugged beauty including mountains, streams, the desert and forests. These subjects are a constant pleasure and a challenge chal-lenge to depict. Her other favorite theme is city life such as farmer's markets mar-kets and outdoor cafes. The poster painting is from Center Street in Provo. . Weber has won awards at juried shows in many states and is regularly selected for the Springville Museum of Art Spring Salon.
