Show Laura Parker, Nathan Anderson married Aug. 13 Donald and Janet Parker of Springville, Utah, are pleased to announce the marriage mar-riage of their daughter, Laura, to Nathan R. Anderson, son of Wesley and DeAnn Anderson of Spanish Fork. The couple were married on Wednesday, Wednes-day, Aug. 13, 2008 by IDS Bishop Richard Beach of the Springville Fifth Ward. A celebration in their honor was held at Somewhere Inn Time in London, attended by family and friends. After a cruise to the Bahamas, Laura Lau-ra and Nate have made their home in Enoch with their beautiful daughter, Gracie. Laura is a graduate of Springville High School and has attended Utah Valley State College and Southern Utah University. Main St. Springville 80th birthday party for Rose Shepherd Rose Shepherd reached her 80th birthday on August Au-gust 18, 2008. On August 16, she celebrated this special spe-cial event with her family at a big surprise birthday party at the Springville Senior Se-nior Citizens Center. Rose thought she was attending at-tending a computer class; but to her delight as she opened the double doors, many of her family members mem-bers of were there to sing, "Happy Birthday to You!" What a surprise it was to her to see so many faces of family who love her so much. Rose is married to the late Floyd Shepherd. She is the mother of Mike (Susan) Shepherd, Orem; Terry (Richard) Fox, Ma-pleton; Ma-pleton; Toni (Scott) Hendricks, Hen-dricks, Lehi; Danny Shepherd Shep-herd (deceased); and Steve (Lori) Shepherd, Springville; Spring-ville; and bonus children Ron and Cheryl Henrich-sen Henrich-sen and family. Rose was thrilled to have sisters Edna (Woody) Weight, Springville; and Faye Drage, Spanish Fork; and brothers Rex (Viona) Henderson, Spanish Fork; and Ralph (Jennie) Henderson, Hen-derson, Spanish Fork, and sister-in-law Ruth (Ken) ! eft. Members of the Utah Valley Children's Choir visited various states during their recent tour. Utah Valley Children's Choir travels to Colorado, Arizona and Texas The Children's Choir enjoyed en-joyed another successful trip this summer. Based in Spanish Fork, with members mem-bers from all over the county coun-ty and Suanne Bowcut and Ryan Eggett as directors, the choir tours each year to share their uplifting music mu-sic with the world. The 180-member group spent a year preparing musically mu-sically and financially to go on this mini-mission to sing for the Lord. The members range in age from 8-18 years and bring together the top voices from 400 children participating in the Utah Valley Children's choir music education pro- Rose and Floyd spent many years Rose still remains in the group at Lowe, Springville and best friend Colleen (Glendon) Taylor, Genola; all join her for the exciting evening. Rose "Grammy" has many grandchildren and great-grandchildren and many of them were there to join in the fun. Rose enjoyed being the 1 -v . wrs gram. The choir meets early ear-ly on Saturday mornings and looks forward to their summer trip all year long. This year the tour started in Spanish Fork with a concert con-cert on June 1. On June 4th the choir traveled by bus to Durango, Colorado for a concert there. They went on to perform in El Paso, Texas, St. Johns, Arizona, and San Antonio, Texas, returning home June 11. The choir members stay at LDS member's homes and hotels along the way. Choir member, Riley Lewis, 15, of Spanish Fork, commented that he loved seeing the Alamo and the Riverwalk in San Antonio. "Tour is the best," he says. "Even riding on the bus is fun! Elder Brendon Guymon, son of Karl and Caren Guymon of Spanish Fork, is a former member of the Utah Valley Children's Choir. He is serving in the Tucson, Arizona, Spanish speaking mission which also covers El Paso, Texas. He was able to attend the concert with some investigators. investi-gators. In an e-mail he related to his parents the wonderful wonder-ful experience. Listening to the music made him remember his time in the choir and he felt the choir experience had come full circle.
