Show I Thursday, August , 2008 SPRINGVILLE HERALD BYU to host annual Campus Education Week Aug. 18-22 Brigham Young University Univer-sity will host the 86th annual an-nual Campus Education Week, possibly the largest larg-est continuing education program of its type in the world, Monday through Friday, Aug. 18-22, at various vari-ous locations across the BYU campus. This year's program, themed "The Journey of Lifelong Learning," is co-sponsored co-sponsored by BYU and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints' Church Educational System. The program will offer more than 1,000 classes on everything ev-erything from education, religion, family relations and genealogy to history, health, science, law and finance. Presenters will include in-clude 161 returning favorites favor-ites from years past and 42 new presenters. The campus-wide Education Educa-tion Week devotional on Tuesday, Aug. 19, at 11:10 a.m. wiil feature Elder Robert Rob-ert D. Hales of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The devotional will take place in the Marriott Center and will be broadcast live on the BYU Broadcasting networks. net-works. While much of the program pro-gram is designed for adults, anyone over the age of 14 may attend, as there will be more than 60 classes and a dance specifically intended for youth. Babies and young children are not permitted at the sessions. Participants may register for the week, a day or just a few hours. Registration in advance by telephone, Internet or mail before Aug. 15 is $56, and registration regis-tration at-the-door is $66. Participants can also register reg-ister for part-time or one day only. Lucille Peterson celebrates her 88th birthday in style On July 18, 2008, Lucille Strong Peterson celebrated celebrat-ed her 88th birthday with over 125 of her immediate immedi-ate family at the Mapleton City Park and made her grand entrance on a new three-wheeler Harley Davidson Da-vidson motorcycle from Rick Salisbury's Legends Motorcycle located at 94 N. Main Street in Springville. Dressed in a black leather leath-er vest and sporting a Harley Har-ley Davidson headband she was welcomed at the park by all of her family. Diamond are pleased to announce their dad's 90th birthday celebration and open house on Saturday, Aug. 9, 2008 from 3 to 5 p.m. at his home at 386 W. 100 North, in Springville, Utah. Jim was born August 3, 1918 at his Grandma Mann's home in Provo, to Earl V. Diamond and Sarah Mann Diamond. He grew up and attended schools in Springville and graduated from Springville High School. Throughout his life, Jim worked on the family fam-ily farm, in the Rodeo and was a Rodeo Clown. Later he worked for the government govern-ment and did construction.
