Vl ,rt Dick Allen recieves distinguished service award The Springville High School FFA Chapter nominated nomi-nated Dick Allen for the Distinguished Dis-tinguished Service Award for not only supporting the Springville chapter for the past two years but his service ser-vice to many FFA chapters for several years. Allen was recognized at the 4th general session of the state convention. Allen's support of the FFA is over 40 years old and began in 1962 when he was a member of, the Provo High School FFA chapter. He often shares great FFA stories like walking dairy cattle through the halls of the school and hypnotizing chickens on the front side walk. Allen has continued to create stories in the history of the FFA; he was a great supporter of his daughter's local FFA chapter serving as the Tooele FFA Dairy Judging coach, winning state in 1988 and placing 9th in the nation that same year. He has spent countless count-less hours working with not only Tooele's judging team but with many others like Grantsville, Payson and Springville. ; : Allen currently works for Farm Management Company Com-pany and is the General Manager of Brigham Creek Dairy and Elberta Valley Ag. where they operate a 3500 cow dairy farm and farm 9,000 acres. Allen seems to have somewhat of an open door policy for FFA chapters. He and his team at the farm are always willing to con- duct tours and educate the youth about agriculture.
