I For years and years the SprtogvUleMapleton. Chamber of Commerce has urged citizens to shop Ja Sprfcgvalle. And that is good advise - if you can. Years ago it was a lot easier when we had more of a variety of stores in Springville. Then some of them rWrf and Main Street changed It wasn't so easy to shop here any more. We watched a parade of ccrs headed for Prcvo, Orern and Spcrish Fork on shep- ping trirs. Including us. . It seemed that we were too close to Provo to attract at-tract new business. The coming of Wal-Mart to Springe chanjjed everything. We have had an increase of businesses in our midst. That is what happens. Business attracts business. And it has been good to be able to do more shopping here without having to go to Grera or Provo. Pro-vo. We need more business. More business does not mean the demise of the businesses we already have. More business creates competition and provides a healthy business community. Our industrial park is thriving. Most of us don't know the extent of the businesses located there. We have many new businesses on North Main. We can use more. With the completion of the 400 South project in two years, Springville should see lots of growth in the business community. Many are waiting for that road to be done before coming that. Stopping at Target in day, we were commenting on how badly we need that store in Springville. We are also aware that the city fathers are working to get Target to come here. We hope that will happen. It will be nice to see shopping here, saving gasoline and time to meet their needs. It will be nice to have more restaurants and other choices to spend our money. It will be great to see Springville grow and grow ia the business community. "Mm ev nu- .
