Although the cast regrets that their journey is coming com-ing to an end, they have some positive words to share. Jennifer Luther (Ms. Adelaide) says it was an amazing experience and she"Il miss the opportunities opportuni-ties she often had to work with all her peers. Looking back, she says she would like to tell them how amazing amaz-ing they are, and how wonderful won-derful they made her summer. sum-mer. Even though it was a lot of hard work, it was worth it." He also tells us that while he loved doing "Guy's and Doll's" he hated wearing "all that stage make-up!" Nic Anderson (Sky Masterson) also has great memories. His favorite part was singing Luck Be a Lady. Even though some of his harmonies threw him for a loop, he pulled through with great success! suc-cess! He thinks that everyone every-one should try out for the play in the future, because it's such "an awesome experience." ex-perience." He loved every second of it, "except the kissing scenes." Kiera Spencer (Sarah Brown) says she will never forget this amazing opportunity! op-portunity! "Mrs. Walker is such a talented director! direc-tor! She made it such a great experience! I'd like to thank all the teachers and parents who made the play the great success that it was!" For her the hardest part was the kissing scene, "it was weird having your parents tell you your whole life not to kiss until your 16, then all the sudden having hav-ing them tell you 'it's no big deal It's just a play, go ahead, kiss.'" Springville Junior had a great time doing this play, and we're all looking forward for-ward to next year! Bree Hathaway and Phillip Harnden SJHS STAFF WRITERS Springville Jr. High School is having a Halloween Hallow-een Dance on Thursday, Oct. 25. The dance will be held at SJHS from 7 to 9 p.m. Its four dollars without with-out activity card and three dollars with card. Students are allowed to wear costumes but you CANNOT wear masks or face paintings. You must dress in school standards, and no hair coloring will be allowed. Students are, however, how-ever, allowed to wear hats. Be wise and have fun. A couple of reasons to take choir for an elective is for the love of singing, having a great time, and learning things such as notes, new songs, and good singing techniques. "What is there not to love about choir. It's fun and energetic! I love feeling feel-ing the things from all the songs they sing. Our choir class's have a really great time." One other thing Mrs. Bailey told us is that she has planned some events in choir. She wants to give students a chance to sing and have concerts and show everyone how good they really are. Mrs. Bailey Bai-ley decided to teach choir because of all the fun she had when she took it during dur-ing high schooL So if you want to have fun and if you enjoy singing, sing-ing, you can sign up for choir when you get your elective paper. As I interviewed teachers teach-ers I found out that their clothing was a lot more limited than ours. Some teachers said that they had to wear uniforms, so they didn't have as much of a choice as we do in what we wear. Other teachers said that they wore "retro" clothes, such as collared shirts, long bead necklaces, and shaded glasses. As I compared the answers an-swers it seemed like there wasn't as much difference in fashion as I thought. Reflections Reflec-tions is an artistic competition competi-tion between districts, and students compete even as high as nationals. Each year has a different differ-ent theme. Each theme involves some positive engagement en-gagement for the school and community. This year's theme is, "I can make a difference dif-ference by..." This theme should encourage students to brainstorm creative ways to make a difference in their community and neighborhood. Any artistic piece is accepted, including drawing, sculpting, painting, paint-ing, film, photography, etcetera. et-cetera. This is a great opportunity opportu-nity to get involved in our school activities. We hope that parents will encourage encour-age their children to enter Reflections.
