Power board assess city electric operations Martin conover SPRINGVILLE HERALD The Springville Power Board met last week to discuss dis-cuss regular normal operations opera-tions of the utility, and it was reported that there seems to be enough spring water to supply the needs of the city at this time. The trend of less power outages is continuing in the city with the smooth operation opera-tion of the power system. No major power outages for the city were reported during the month of May. All Hydro units in the city are in full operation with the increased amounts of water run-off this spring, and none of the city's wells are presently being pumped. All of the generation units at the Whitehead Utility Center Cen-ter are operational and the new relay devices have been installed replacing some older old-er type relays which came with the generators. The board was told that the Nebo Power Station is up and running after a shut-down over the weekend due to some problems at the plant. The new contract with De-seret De-seret Generation and Transmission Trans-mission has also been presented pre-sented to the city and should be before the council in their next meeting this month. It was reported that gas prices are still coming down and are below $45 per de-catherm. de-catherm. The Springville City Council Coun-cil raised power rates at their meeting June 7. PHI nWK ..
