Show Page Ten - The Springville Herald - December 25, 2003 OBITUARIES Blanche 0. Nielson Blanche Davis Nielson, age 86, of Springville, Utah, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 17, 2003. She was born June 26, 1917 in Leland, Utah to Earl H. and Eleanor Elea-nor Jane Larsen Davis. She married mar-ried Merrell L. Nielson on August 30, 1939 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Blanche, with her husband Merrell, ran Nielson 's Feed and Supply in Springville. They had many friends and loyal customers. She dedicated her life to giving service to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and to the community. Her church service included many leadership responsibilities responsi-bilities such as Primary and Relief Society President and Gospel Doctrine Teacher. She taught a class lesson until she was 80 years old. She served at the Brookside School in the grandparent program, pro-gram, teaching children to read. She did volunteer work at Utah Valley Regional medical Center giving comfort to many. She served a temple mission with her husband in the Provo Temple. She had many hobbies and interests. Baby quilts were her specialty and she enjoyed tole painting, ceramics, crocheting and Marshall S. Fox Marshall S. Fox, age 74, of Springville, Utah, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 17, 2003 of cancer and Parkinson's disease. He was at home surrounded by his loved ones. He was born January 22, 1929 in Springville to John Alfred Fox and Margaret Chloe Boyer Fox. He married Joan Miner Min-er October 31, 1951 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple, Marshall worked road construction con-struction and was an equipment operator for Thorn Construction and WW Clyde. He worked at Brigham Young University for 27 years as supervisor of the heating and water treatment plants. He retired in August of 1991. Marshall Mar-shall was a member of the BYU Administrative Advisory Committee, Commit-tee, the 2030 Club, Kiwanis, and a former member of the operating engineers union. He also served as an actor in many plays and musicals. musi-cals. For many years, Joan and Marshall sang together at funerals and other functions. He was an LDS Bishop of the Kolob 2nd Ward, member of the Kolob Stake High Council and in the Kolob Stake Presidency. He was a loving home teacher and held many other callings. He served an LDS mission to the East Central States, and then he with his wife, Joan, in the Melbourne, Australia Mission. He also served many years as an ordinance worker work-er at the Provo Temple. His family was everything to him. he was loved and respected by all who knew him. She is also survived by two sisters: Mary Anderson, Provo and Lorraine Davis, Spanish Fork; and two brothers: Allan Davis and Clare Davis, both of Spanish Fork.
