Pioneer Pageant July 23, 24, 25 The fourth annual Pioneer Legacy Pageant, based on the story of Elizabeth Fox, will be presented on July 23, 24 and 25 at 9 p.m. at the Spring Acres Arts Park, 620 S. 1350 East, Springville. It lasts about an hour and is summer fun for the whole family. Admission is free. Great for families, Elizabeth Eliza-beth Fox's amazing story of love, faith and miracles is both inspiring and entertaining. entertain-ing. The pageant features over 150 people and uses music, dance and narration to . tell the story. This year the pageant features the Mt. Nebo Children's Choir on July 24 and the Utah Valley Children's Choir on the 23rd and 25th. "We appreciate the support sup-port that the Springville Arts Commission has provided to enable us to share the pageant pag-eant with the community. Over 10,000 people have seen it so far and this year we expect about 5,000 people to attend," says Lynne Thompson, Tho-mpson, director. "Many people have read the recently released book of Pioneer Legacy and are coming from California, Wyoming, Colorado Colo-rado and Montana to see Elizabeth's story unfold on the stage. " The book "Pioneer Legacy" Lega-cy" written by Lynne Thom pson, tells the story in more detail and is packaged with the CD soundtrack at Deseret Book. 1 David Thompson composed the music and sings on the soundtrack with daughter, Katie Thompson, who, for the last three years has played the role of Connie Lou in the "Forgotten Carols." Car-ols." One of the CD selections, selec-tions, "Angel's Love Songs" has been featured on KSTR and KOZY 106.5 radio. Pioneer Legacy is the story of a single life that touches others for good. Elizabeth survived her ordeal and went on to be a midwife, delivering hundreds of babies in the Salt Lake area. In her very old age she left her sickbed, rode in a sleigh across a frozen river, delivered deliv-ered a baby and returned home to her sick bed. Her comment: "It's more important impor-tant to save two lives than to save mine. " A great lady. A great story. A great pageant. iin Sharon Aposhian Wright, right, and Millie Cannon, middle, were the co-chairpersons for this year's Quilt Show at the Springville Museum of Art. They are shown with Millie's daughter. The women presented the awards to the quilt winners last week at the opening reception of the show. Citizens are invited to come to the museum and see the quilts. There is also a quilt on display that will be given away at the end of the show. They have Swordfighting Classes every Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. You can go and learn medieval swordsmanship, swordsman-ship, sword and shield, single sword, and sword and dagger while learning to fight with chivalry and honor. On Saturday, July 19, there will be a Sand Castle Competition. You can go and build your dream castle. Registration opens at 10 a.m. with prizes and awards at 5 p.m. Children under age 8 may have an older partner. Judging will be by size, creativity and detail. Also on July 19 there will be a Children's and Youth's Swordfighting Tourney for kids ages 4-11 and youth ages 12-18. Registration will be at 10:30 a.m. with prizes and awards at 5 p.m. Medieval Jousting will be held on July 24 through 26 and August 29, 30 and September Sep-tember 1. Five-time World Champion Shane Adams will challenge other knights including in-cluding Young Living's Gary Young. This is lots of fun to see. And the first Annual ' Medieval Faire will be held July 24-26 featuring Shakespeare's Shakes-peare's "As You Like It." There will also be jousting, magic show, merchants, medieval concert featuring! Idylwild, grease pole climb,; dancing, demonstrations, swordfighting, armor display! food and merriment for all. ; Those visiting the park! may also enjoy paddleboat't rides, climb the rock wall, J visit the exotic zoo, visit the greenhouses and siteilleryr They may also take an au-lr thentic wagon train trip to an?
