It is expected that Hepatitis A vaccine will be required re-quired for school entrance in the near future if funding becomes available to defray some of the cost of the vaccine. Two cases in Utah County of Hepatitis A The Utah County Health Department has received reports of Hepatitis A in two Novell employees who traveled to Orlando, Orlan-do, Florida, the second week in January. There are at least 11 confirmed cases of Hepatitis A and nine other suspected cases in the United States and France which are linked to a probable restaurant exposure in Orlando. Dr. Joseph Miner. Utah County Cou-nty public health officer, stated the incidence of Hepatitis A in Utah has been well above the national rate in recent years. However this last year, the incidence inci-dence of this common infectious hepatitis has decreased dramatically. dramati-cally. This decrease is largely due to more widespread use of the very effective Hepatitis A vaccine and also due to better diapering sanitation procedures at child care centers. Immune (gamma) globulin used to be given routinely to travelers who needed temporary protection for travel to areas where increased exposure to Hepatitis A was expected. Alain Devil update by Caleb Perkins The Springville Red Devils played the Lone Peak Knights on Wed., Feb. 21. The game was tied all the way through the first half. The Knights pulled out in front in the second half and dominated the rest of the game going on a 14-4 run. Sadly the Knights pulled out the victory at the last home game of the year. The final score was Lone Peak 69 Springville 51. Aaron Andrus led the Red Devils in scoring, Mike Barnes led in rebounding and Jim Ammott led in assists. Before the game the senior basketball team members were presented plaques - for playing hard and putting in an extra effort in all the games this year.
