The groom graduated from Marsh Valley High School, Idaho. He was active in football, basketball and track. He attended Southern Utah University where he participated in Thundcrbird football and track. Search on for new Miss Utah County In connection with the Utah Valley County Fair, Utah County will host its Annual Scholarship Pageant for the selection of Miss Utah County on Sat., Aug. 3 at Lakeridge Jr. High School in Orem. The Utah County Scholarship Pageant will be the official kick-off kick-off of the Utah Valley County Fair to be held at the county fairgrounds in Spanish Fork, August Au-gust 14-17. The pageant will be hosted by , 1990 Miss Utah County Danaca Palmer. Palmer has reigned as queen since August 16, 1990. She is the daughter of Don and DcAnn Palmer of Lehi. This year's pageant is open to all 1990 local queens, first and second runners-up, plus the current cur-rent first and second runncrs-up from the local pageants. The new Miss Utah County will host the Utah Valley County Fair. She will also represent Utah County at the Miss Utah Pageant in 1992. The new queen will receive re-ceive $400 in scholarship money. The first runner-up will receive $250 and will represent Utah County at the 1991 Miss Utah State Fair Pageant in September, which could also lead to the Miss Utah Pageant, plus additional scholarship money. Ruel Haymond, son of Carole and Phil Haymond of Dale City, Virginia, and grandson of Faye Madsen and Paul Haymond of Springville, were married on April 26, 1991 in the Jordan River LDS Temple. A luncheon lun-cheon and reception followed at the Riverton Stake Center. Showers for the bride were given in Riverton and by Beth Haymond and Martha Haymond Doebler, sisters of the groom, in Provo. Having completed their studies at Snow College, Col-lege, the couple will attend Utah State University this fall. Betty and Fred Diamond Diamonds to celebrate The children of Fred and Betty Diamond will honor their parents on their 50th Wedding Anniversary at an open house Saturday, July 13, 1991 from 7 to 9 p.m. at the home of Morgan and Sara Anderson, 127 South 800 East, Springville. The couple were married June 27, 1941 in Springville. The marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple, April 16, 1946. Following their marriage, they lived in Salt Lake for one year, returning to Springville where they have since resided. Fred was born Sept. 5, 1920 in Springville to Earl and Sarah Mann Diamond. He graduated from Springville High School and served in the U.S. Navy during World War II for 18 months. During their early marriage he worked as a farmer and cattleman. Together, he and Betty, farmed 300 acres in Spanish Fork Canyon in Red Hollow which later became known as the Diamond Ranch. Fred was active in rodeo and served as president of the Hobble Creek Riding Club. Fred is retired from the State of Utah where he served as state investigator for the Department of Agriculture. He still drives his team of mules and enjoys taking pack trips throughout the state. ' "' '" ' He is active in the LDS Church where he has served in the bishopric, on the High Council, and currently serves as a Stake Missionary."1 ' ' -'x :,:-:- : ', He and Betty have enjoyed square dancing, and are active temple ' workers. They like traveling, and meeting and associating with people. ' - 'J '-' . K : Betty was born Nov. 29, 1922 in Ucon, Idaho to John and Ivy Curtis Guymon. She moved to Springville at the age of 12, and is a graduate of Springville High School. She has been a devoted mother and wife throughout their marriage. She has been active in the LDS Church and worked over 20 years in the Primary Association, where she served as president, counselor and teacher. She currently works in the Relief Society and is also a Stake Missionary. She has served as PTA president, and is an active member of the DUP Camp Cottonwood, where she currently serves as captain. She worked for 18 years in the school food services for Nebo School District.
