In an effort to make Springville citizens more aware of some of the truly wonderful architectural features in the downtown business district, the Springville Historic Preservation Preserva-tion Commission and the Downtown Rcvitaliation Committee arc sponsoring an identification contest. Each week, for the next four weeks, the Springville Herald will publish several photographs of things residents and shoppers see every day. All of the pictures were taken between 400 North and 400 South and 100 West and 200 East. The contest will be to identify iden-tify what is in the photo and tell where it is located. The photos will be numbered. Write down the number of each photo, pho-to, what it is and and where it is located. After all 16 photographs photo-graphs have been published in the Springville Herald, turn in your identifications, together with your name, address and phone number to the Herald office. A closing dale for turning turn-ing in your entry will be published pub-lished the last week along with the photos. The winner with the most correct answers will be announced an-nounced in the Herald the following week. Clarence and Eleanor Zorncs, owners of Town and Country Gifts, will supply the prize. Mapleton Police had 13 calls, two of. them were for the ambulance. Cash was taken during a burglary at the Pizza Hut. And thefts included a wedding ring; license plate; camera and Nintendo Nin-tendo game; motorcycle; and services at Brookside Service. Daniel Meacham, 275 North 900 East, Springville, was arrested ar-rested on a warrant for failure to appear in court. A parent was turned in for assaulting a child. " She will complete in the State .'FFA speaking contest on : March 22 at the State FFA Convention in Logan. Becky is "rthe daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Eldon Best. This is Becky's , first year in the FFA program. ; Justin Schaugaard, son of Dan and Linda Schaugaard of Spanish Fork and grandson of Glen and Geneveive Schau- gaard of Springville, received his Eagle Scout Award recently. recent-ly. For his Eagle project he organized a group of scouts and citizens to travel to a burn ; area in the Wasatch National I Forest where they planted 750 " trees in campground areas. He has attended Timberline and held many leadership positions including patrol leader. He has earned three Eagle palms and plans to earn more. Justin Is active in sports and likes fish-" fish-" ing, motor-boating and math. He is in the 9th grade and was presented his Eagle by his school principal Mark Koyle.
