Announcement is made by Boyd and Lora Lehmberg of St. George, formerly of Springville, of the engage-ment engage-ment of their daughter, Tina, of Orem, to Mr. Daryl Chadwick, son of Chris and Thora Chadwick of American Fork. The couple plans to be married Saturday, February Feb-ruary 10, 1990 in American Fork. A reception will be held at the American Fork Senior Citizens Center from 7 to 9 p.m. that evening. The bride-to-be graduated from Springville High school and served an LDS mission in Rapid City, South Dakota. She is employed in Prove The prospective groom graduated from American Fork High School and served in the U.S. Air Force. He is also employed in Provo. Showers were given for the bride by Kaylene and Julie Chadwick, Kathleen Whitehead and Mary Benson. Ben-son. The newlyweds will make their home in Spanish Former resident, marries in India Karen Peterson, daughter of Donna and' Morris Peterson, of Provo, married Sanjeev K. Mehra, ion of Kawal and Prem Mehra, of Nlew Delhi, India, on January 16, 1990 in New Delhi, India. Karen graduated from Springville High School in 1978, and from Harvard University in 1982. She is currently a graduate student at Columbia University in New York where she is completing a PhD. in anthropology. Sanjeev is also a Harvard University Univer-sity graduate with Bachelors (1982) and MBA (1986) degrees. He presently pres-ently works for Goldman, Sachs & Co., an investment bank in New York City. The couple were married Feb. 7, 1940 and their marriage was later solcm-! solcm-! nized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Lester worked for the D&RG Railroad and retired in 1986 from : Springville City Electric Depart ment after 30 years. Adelcne has been a homcmaker and has enjoyed crocheting and quilting as her hobbies. She has also been active working in the LDS Church. Their children are David K. Underwood, Granger and Michael D. Underwood of Kcarhs. They have five grandchildren and two-greatgrandchildren. Mr. and Mrs. Peter Haymond Mr. and Mrs. Phillip Haymond of Woodbridge, VA announce the October 7th marriage of their son, Peter Mark, to Dusadee Sanguansook, daughter of Amara and the late Col. (Police) Samsuk Sanguansook. Sanguan-sook. The ceremony and reception were held at the Landmark Hotel, Bangkok, Thailand. . Peter, a doctoral candidate, received a degree in economics from BYU, after serving an LDS mission to Thailand. ' - . Dusadee graduated from Chulalongkorn University Univer-sity in Bangkok and was a Fulbright Scholar at the Fletcher School of International Law and Diplomacy in Boston where both received Masters Degrees. After a wedding trip to Northern Thailand, the couple is residing in Bangkok where Peter is teaching at Dhurakijpundit College while Dusadee continues her employment with the Thai Ministry. Faye Madsen and Paul Haymond of Springville are Peter's grandparents. t ,M i IS y. i M. 5 Jenny Reliecca Hanks, daughter of Kurt and Corinne Hanks of Ma-pleton, Ma-pleton, turned one year old on January 17, 1990. She is the twelfth child in the family of six boys and six girls. Her grandparents are John and Ma)el Reed of Mesa, Arizona and Kelly and Lucille Hanks of Salem. x. 11 1 1 Valentine sweet sale at hospital Crib Corner We Readers Club Valentine goodies will be the ordei of the day at Mountain View Hospital Hos-pital on Wednesday, February 14, when the hospital volunteers hold their annual Valentine Sweet Sale. According to Alta Coombs, Chairman, Chair-man, the sale will offer many varieties varie-ties of candy from the kitchens of the "Pink Ladies" as they are affec tionately known, as well as popcorn pop-corn and cookies. The sale will begin at 9 a.m. in the hospital main lobby. Proceeds from the sale will be used to help buy the Lifeline units currently being leased by the volunteers vol-unteers for use in this area. There are approximately 50 units now in use providing a valuable service for those needing a personal emergency response unit. The volunteers have sponsored this program for the last five years. To clean a glass decanter, chop a large potato into small pieces. Put it into the decanter with scjme warm, water and shake rapidly. She is the lady to whom seniors should call to make their appointment now for a good checkup, free of charge. Seniors may also receive help with their income taxes on the following dates: Saturdays, February 17, March 3 and 17, April 7 and 14, all from 1 to 3 p.m. An Outreach worker will be at the center every Tuesday from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. It takes 4,000 crocuses to make an ounce of saffron.
