This service was designed for patients who have to travel a long distance from home to the hospital. This also contains costs for individuals by having them check in as a guest, with the guest rate rather than a patient the night before a scheduled surgery. Family members may also stay in the hospital while their relative is recuperating. Patients anticipating an operation who are in the hospital as guests can be prepared for surgery the night before. For a minimal fee, $15,00 for an individual and $20.00 for a couple, a clean room, towels, fresh linen, and use of the hospital facilities are available. This option is available only to those individuals who are well enough to care for themselves during the short time they are a guest. It is as if they were staying at a hotel while they are here as guests not as patients in the hospital. Rooms on the second floor are arranged for through the admitting office. Guests are instructed to bring their own medications and purchase meals in the cafeteria. "We feel like this is a new concept to hospitalization. Families have always been concerned about their loved one who is a patient in the hospital. Hopefully, this option makes the hospital stay more comfortable for everyone, patient and family," states Guy Thompson.' tTTtttl ' Support Your Church JUL JvL ' j ' I s- -; v v v V i A THE LAST LEAF OF AUTUMN The last ragged leaf of autumn is blown up against a fence as a forlorn symbol that the change of seasons is upon us.
