The Pageant, entitled en-titled "America's Witness For Christ," is an annual summer presentation of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (the Mormons). The event has been acclaimed by the New York Times as "America's most elaborate religious Pageant." It features a cast of over 650 children and adults from approximately 40, states and Canada, and spans 25 hillside stages, making it the largest outdoor religious pageant in America. Special effects, including the world's largest outdoor sound system and mist screens of water, make this dramatic presentation truly a spectacle of sight and sound. The Pageant story is a unique depiction of scenes from both the Book of Mormon and the Holy Bible. Taken together, these scenes tell of the civilization that flourished in the Americas from 600 B.C. through the coming of Christ to the Western Mormon film to be shown in Spanish Fork "The God Makers: the Mormon Quest for Godhood," a motion picture about the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, will be shown Thursday, July 21, at 7:30 p.m. at the Chillon Reception Center, 710 East Center St., Spanish Fork. The Nebo Baptist "Church of Spanish Fork is showing the film free to the public. "The God Makers" is a controversial, con-troversial, fast-paced film that explores the history and doctrines of the IDS' Church from an historic Christian viewpoint. Premiering in 1983, the motion picture is being shown across America before audiences of various denominations. This is an excellent opportunity for Mormon and non-Mormon alike to learn about the LDS Church. Those involved in missionary work ought to be aware of what information people across the country are acquiring about the Mormon church from resources such as this. "The God Makers" is 55 minutes in length. The film will be followed by a discussion period enabling the audience to interact immediately about the contents of the motion picture. Discussion will be led by the Re. Marvin Cowan, himself a former Mormon. More information may be obtained ob-tained by calling 798-7800. It ?
