Show Page Four - The Springville Herald - December 30. 1982 Hulce-Kotter vows said on Christmas Eve Mr. and Mrs. Harry J. Hulce of Springville wish to announce the marriage of their son, James, to Konnie Kotter, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Kotter of Ogden, Utah on Christmas Eve. The bride was lovely in her mother's wedding gown of satin brocade. She carried a Christmas bouquet of fuchsia-colored roses and carnations. Sharon Grant of Ogden was her maid of honor and Marvin Dansee of Clearfield, formerly of Springville, was the groom's best man. Konnie grew up in Ogden and graduated from Weber State with a B.S. degree in early December of this year. Jim attended school in Springville, served four years with the United States Air Force, and graduated from Utah State University with a B.A. degree in June 1981. He taught school at White Horse High, at Montezuma Creek and is now Executive Director of United Way of Southeastern Utah. The couple will make their home in Price. Ovard Julie Ann Dalton, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. JD Dalton, will marry Verl H. Ovard, son of Mr. and Mrs. Larry Ovard on Friday, Jan. 7, 1983. All are Springville residents. A reception will be held in their honor that same evening from 7 to 9 at the Springville 9th Ward cultural hall, 55 North Main. All friends and relatives are invited. Bridal attendants will be Mary Jo Hargis as maid of honor, with Pamela Thomas, Linda Durrant, and Stacey Ovard as bridesmaids. Heather Lynn Durrant will be flower girl. Terri Snelson and Don Ovard will perform best man duties. Bob and Danalynn Dalton, Owen and Melodee Hardy, Dennis Dalton, and Lori Henson will be greeters. Special guests will be grandparents of the bride, Mr. and Mrs. Arvin Dalton, and grandparents of the bridegroom, Mr. and Mrs. Les Hardy, Mr. Joe Ovard, and great- grandmother, Mrs. Reva Hardy. Showers have been given by Mary Jo Hargis, Linda Durrant, Connie Dalton, Linda Ovard, Hilda Hardy, Karen Miller, and Melodee Hardy. The bride-elect plans to continue her schooling at Springville High. The prospective bridegroom graduated from Springville High and is now employed by Les Hardy and Sons. The newlyweds will live in Springville. Greenwood -Snow Velt Hancock will be honored on his 80th birthday on Sunday, Jan. 2, 1983 at 191 West Center in Springville. His family is giving him an open house from 2-6 p.m. All relatives and friends are invited. No gifts please. Mr. Hancock has been a mechanic on many construction jobs throughout his life. He has been employed by Whiting & Haymond, Thorn's, Clyde's, Sumsion's and American Consolidated Companies. He was born in Payson, Utah and lived in Utah all of his life. He is a high priest and active in the LDS Church. He loves to camp and fish and go hunting. Now he is retired, and goes bowling and walking each day. Mr. Hancock was married to Fae Palfreyman, who died in 1981. He is now married to Grace Allan Brown, He has three living children: Beverly (Mrs. Jack Whiting), Delia Rae, (Mrs. Dean Powell), and Dick Velt Hancock. Sue (Mrs. Richard Keifer, another daughter, died this year. He has many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He has always enjoyed life and has a great sense of humor, always thankful for his health and many blessings and the friendships he has made through the years. Anne Greenwood, Russell Snow Anne Greenwood, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Noal T. Greenwood, Lindon, will become the bride of Russell K. Snow, son of Mr. and Mrs. K. Anthony Snow, Mapleton, on Tuesday, Jan. 4 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. The couple will be honored at a reception that evening from 6:30 to 9 at the Lindon 6th Ward Chapel, corner of Center and Main, Lindon. All friends and relatives are invited to attend. Special guests will be grandparent's of the bride, Mr. and Mrs. Hartley Greenwood, West Jordan, and Mrs. Ruth Barthel, Murray; and grandparents of the bridegroom, Mr. and Mrs. Carl J. Christensen, and Mrs. Wanda Snow, Provo, Attending the bride will be Susan Greenwood, Rebecca Greenwood, Cindy Jackson, Kathy Oscarson, Suzann Swenson and Linda Parkins. Chris Snow, Robert Snow, Kevin Snow, and David Greenwood will perform best man duties. Prenuptial parties were given by Alma Whiting, and , Anne Snow; and by Tammy Linebaugh and Leisa Firth. The Mother's Study Club held its Christmas meeting and party at the Sage Inn on Dec. 21 at 1:30 p.m. President Teddy Seal conducted the meeting and welcomed members mem-bers and guests. A song "Mary's Lullabv" was sung by Paula Hants accompanied on the piano by Miss Christensen. The table was beautifully decorated with feastive decorations made by Teddy. She had dishes of her homemade candies, popcorn and cookies and fruitcake. At each plate was a beautiful handkerchief she had made for each one present. Louise Tasker, program chairman, chair-man, introduced Josephine Conover who presented the program. She sang many beautiful songs she had composed accompanied on the piano by Olea Sargeant. She also gave a musical reading. She and Olea also gave a piano duet. It was a special afternoon and was enjoyed by all present. The ancient Egyptians slept on pillows made of stone.
