Temple summer party The Ladies Literary Club members were entertained at their annual an-nual summer party Tuesday evening, with Una Bryan, Helen Crandall and Clara Sumsion as Hostesses. The beautiful landscaped land-scaped garden at the Bryan home was the setting for the program. After the luncheon was Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Stanley Hemphill of Kens- are pleased to announce the engagement daughter Mary Ann Hemphill, to Mark Douglas Erdmann, son of Mr. and Mrs. C. Donald Erdmann of Mapleton. The young couple plan to be married Aug. 8, in the Washington D.C. Temple. A reception will follow that evening in Washington D.C. Stake Center, Kensington, Kens-ington, Md. and Aug. 15 in the Mapleton 1st and 4th Ward, from 7:30 to 9:30. Miss Hemphill, a native Arizonian, started her music career in orchestras there and Vestal, New York. She attended Park land Jr. High and graduated from Robert E. Peary High School (Rockville, Md.). While attending the respective schools, she served as assistant director of the Parkland Jr. High pep band and orchestra, treasurer of her tenth grade class and sentor of her senior class. She was also a member of the acappella Choir, madrigals and Peary band. She is active in the LDS Church and a graduate of LDS Seminary. Many musical honors have been won by Miss Hemphill, including the "Outstanding Musician" award in Vestal, New York, playing the Viola, Violin and Flute. She has won honors in dancing, singing, cooking, sewing, athletics and Girl Scouting. At the age of 14 she was one of the youngest to make Senior Youth orchestra which toured Europe June, 1972. She made all-state Orchestra three years and a member of the following: All Eastern Orchestra (Philadelphia, Pa.); Eastern Music Festival (Greensboro, North Carolina); The National Performance Perfor-mance Institute and American Youth Performs, which was sponsored by the University of Maryland: on Scholarship at Brigham Young University for the Sounds of Summer. A graduate of BYU, Miss Hemphill Hem-phill is a band teacher at Oquirrh Hills Middle School in Riverton, Utah. . Miss Hemphill is the daughter of Mary June Stephensen and granddaughter of Ormus William Ezel Benson Stephenson, formerly of Holden, Millard County, Utah. The prospective bridegroom is a graudate of Springville Spr-ingville High School and LDS Seminary. He served an LDS mission to Eastern Canada. He is presently employed with an Electical firm in Provo. Michael Osborn and Michell Hurst Michael Osborn Michelle Hurst to wed Aug. 7 Mr. and Mrs. Robert D. Hurst announce the marriage mar-riage of their daughter Michell, to Michael Boyd Osborn, son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert D. Osborn, on Friday, Aug. 7. A reception will be held that same evening from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. at the home of the bride's parents, 1575 South Main, Mapleton. All friends and relatives are invited to attend. The bride graduated from Springville High School. She is presently employed in Provo. The groom also graduated from Springville Hign School, and is presently employed at Camp Williams. Mrs. Bryan, newly elected president, was in charge. She read a tribute to Manila Brown, retiring president, and presented her with a beautiful hand made pillow. Melva Smith, program chairman, presented an outline of the club program for next year. Seventeen club members and guests attended. Dean Francis II, Becky Johnson to exchange vows Mr. and Mrs. W. Delmar Johnson of Bartlesville, Okla., are pleased to announce the marriage of their daughter Becky Lyn, to Dean Samuel Francis II, son of Mr. and Mrs. Dean S. Francis of Springville. The couple will be married Tuesday, Aug. 4, in the Provo LDS Temple. An open house will be held in their honor the same evening at the home of the groom. All friends and relatives are invited. The bride-to be is a 1979 graduate of College High, and has attended two years at BYU. She is presently employed by Phillips Petroleum Co., in Bartlesville. The groom is a 1976 graduate of Springville High School. He served a two-year mission in Northern California for the LDS Church, attended one year at BYU and one year at Utah Technical College. The couple plan to make their home in Houston, Texas, where the groom is presently employed. Parents of the groom are Kent E. and Esther Rae Young Morgan, of Springville. Parents of the bride are Concha Cooley of San Antonio, An-tonio, Texas and Neil O. Cooley of Albuquerque, New Mexico. , The groom is a graduate of Springville High School and Seminary. He also attended Davis High School in Kaysville for three years. He is the founder and' owner of International Greetings, which publishes greeting cards designed primarily for the 30,000 Missionaries serving the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints throughout the world. He recently purchased Supreme Court Racquetball in Springville. " The bride is a graduate of Davis High School and Seminary in Kaysville, Utah. She recently returned from serving a full time mission in the Argentina, Buenos Aires North Mission. She and the groom were both members of the Lamanite Generation, a BYU entertainment group, in which they toured extensively extensive-ly the Western and Northern United States and Canada.
