Perry will be held Sunday, February 3, 3-5 p.m., in the Provo Fourth Ward Cultural Hall, 396 North 100 West, Provo. The couple, who live at 265 West 300 North, Provo, will be celebrating the occasion of their 50th wedding anniversary. Hosts will be relatives of the couple, Mr. and Mrs. Arch (Inez) Rudolph of. Burley, Idaho; Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd (Verna) Bankhead of Salt Lake City; Mr. and Mrs. Burnell (Alene) Perry of Provo; Mr. and Mrs. Joe (Zillah) Kerby of Provo; Mr. and Mrs. Alden (Lucille) Miner of Thatcher, Arizona; and Mr. and Mrs. Burt (Marva) Taylor of Springville. Friends and relatives are invited to attend the open house. Mrs. Perry is the former Melva Brown of Springville, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Milton Brown. She received her school here and has been active over the years in Relief Society and served as a counselor on the state board of Relief Society for 14 years. Mr. Perry is the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Perley Perry of Mapleton: ' ';. ';., He also attend school here and , worked for 39 years for Troy Laundry in Provo. He worked for the state of Utah for seven years before retiring. He has been a temple worker since the opening of the Provo Temple. Mr. Perry has been senior Aaronic leader, Sunday school From the files 10 years ago- A group of Cub Scouts toured the Civil Defense faculty in the basement of the junior high school last week. Leaders are Mrs. Lois Holley and Mrs. LaRayne Hansen. Cubs are Sidney Sorensen, David Tran-chell, Tran-chell, Craig Lisonbee, Russell Clark, Charles Huff, Wayne Wetzel, Steven Averett, Craig Pabst, Larry Schaugaard, Bobby Williams, Kim Anderson, Bradley Duncan, Jerry Holley, David Twelves, Paul Straw, Dan Schaugaard, Michale Hansen and Scott Duncan. If the temperature rises a few degrees above zero, the town folk get a feeling that spring is here, because of the extreme cold the past several days and nights. The thermometer hit a two degree below zero reading early Tuesday morning. That was just slightly warmer than the day superintendent and is presently assistant clerk and executive secretary of the Fourth Ward. Mr. and Mrs. Perry .were married January 24, 1924 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Eric Thomas McConnell celebrated his first birthday on Thursday, January 24. He is the handsome little son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert G. McConnell of Springville. His mother is the former Norma Jean Hunt. Grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Tom Hunt of Spanish Fork and Mr. and Mrs. Robert S. McConnell of Kearns. Eric has lots of help in celebrating with the aid of his brothers and sisters, Annette, 12; Claudia, 9; Bobby, 6; and David, 3. before. Springville's record for the winter thus far has been a cold cold six below. Miss Lorraine Judd, daughter of Dr. and Mrs. C. W. Judd of this city was named National Guard queen for 1964 at the conclusion of a contest at the senior high school Saturday. Named as her attendants were Diane Mae Diaz and Eileen Cloward. Springville's Red Devils will be playing the underdog roll in their game tonight with the Provo Bulldogs.
