This should provide some new and exciting programs in many of our classrooms this Fall. One interesting program will be the new fifth grade vocational laboratory which will allow all of the fifth grade students in Nebo to have approximately ap-proximately ten hours experience ex-perience in five out of eight vocational areas. The laboratory has been disigned in a school bus and will be moved from school to school on a weekly basis. There will be more on the lab as we complete it and get it ready for school. This is the project to watch. In addition, many of the "unit kits," packages of materials, films and information for teacher use on special projects, have been developed at the Instructional Media Center this Summer. The Bus Shop has worked on buses through the Summer. All major repairs and minor maintenance has been completed com-pleted and the buses are now ready for the Highway Patrol inspection. This is the first time that we have been able to be in a position to have buses inspected prior to the beginning of school. We would invite you to drop by the Bus Shop and look over their operation. Many improvements have been made in the last two years. The Buildings and Grounds Department have either completed, or are on schedule to have completed, the projects planned for the Summer. Sum-mer. This past week, blacktop repairs have been taken care of. One crew has been on boilers most of the Summer and they are just about ready to go. The complete remodeling of the Lake Shore building is just about on schedule. The remodeling at the Payson Middle School will be completed and much of the painting which was planned for the Summer is completed. The behind the scenes activities ac-tivities which go on during the Summer are monumental in terms of getting school underway. un-derway. The bids were let at last Board Meeting for 1,470,000 cartons of milk which will come to something slightly over $90,000. Most of the supplies have been purchased and are now being delivered and stocked in the schools. The Instructional Materials Catalog of approximately ap-proximately 800 pages has been completely -' revised and available for teacher use. The Accounting Department has e breakdown on the working budget and accounts and is ahead of schedule with that major program. As you may or may not know, we now have our accounting and budget system on the State Computer. This program is working rather smoothly and has been a great improvement in the Nebo District budgeting and accounting ac-counting procedures. We would also invite you to come in and discuss with Mr. Hansen the programs we have on Data Processing. We will try to get an article out from Mr. Hansen's office explaining the programs that we have on the computer. The Instruction Department has completed the big task of EXCLUSIVE AT" HUSKYl A different coin given with every purchase of eight gallons or more of Husky gasoline. Collect 'em all! EXCLUSIVE. AT EXCLUSIVE AT Mr1 HUSKY The following news item appeared ap-peared in the Price Sun Advocate Ad-vocate this week, and mentions the alertness of Springville service station attendants, which could well have been the main factor in apprehending two alleged robbers: Two men were arrested about 4:30 a.m. Sunday just west of Price near the Husky Truck Stop by law enforcement offficers. They were wanted by the Salt Lake Police Department in connection with a strong-arm robbery. The story unfolded in Price about 3:30 a.m. when a call came from the Provo dispatcher telling of the robbery of a 63-year-old woman who was confined con-fined to a wheelchair. According to the report, she had been beaten and her purse stolen by two yound men in Salt Lake Saturday evening. The report went on to say the two suspects were getting gasoline at a Springville service station and were "bragging" about the robbery. The service statidn attendant took down the license number and the description of the car, called the local police, who called Provo. Provo then called Salt Lake City and the robbery was confirmed as case number 72-28443. Provo called the dispatcher at Price who alerted officers. Mike Royce of the Utah Highway High-way Patrol was at the weigh station near Castle Gate when the dispatcher called him. He closed the station and sat in the patrol car. In a matter of minutes, the car described by Provo appeared and headed on toward Price - with Trooper Royce following. As the pair came around the corner just north of the Car-bonville Car-bonville truck stop, they were met by a roadblock consisting of two patrol cars and Carbon Deputy Ron Simpson, Police Sergeant Bob Tilton and Trooper Steve Douros. With three shotguns in front of them and another behind them, the two men gave up without a word. After being searched, they were found to have the woman's purse in their car and $944 in cash along with two $100 checks made out to the Salt Lake woman. The men, Ralph Richard Shutt, 25, Salt Lake City, and Terry Lynn Spainhower, 28, Tustin, Calif., were placed in a cell. Salt Lake City police picked the two men up on Monday evening and returned to the capital city with the suspects.
