Wanda Boyer is the assistant director to Steven Oldfield, director. The setting of the play is the Sacred Oak Grove of the Druids in the country of the Silures during the Roman occupation of Britain (about 2000 years ago). The action of the play revolves around an old belief of the Silures that of the symbolic marrying of young maidens to Roman gods. Nan has strong personal convictions in this old belief, but her daughter Daifta, doesn't agree with her mother and protests against it that is until she learns that it really works. Marius is a senior Roman legionary and is a strict, yet likeable fellow. Decianus is a young Roman soldier not long in the army and is eager to please. Duftan is an old priest who lives in the Sacred Oak Grove and performs the ceremonies. Cast members and directors are working toward a top rating in state competition.
