M'".o5" Banquet held The Springville High School Athletic Club held it's seventh annual athletic awards banquet last Thursday evening at the high school, where approximately ap-proximately 250 athletes, parents and guests were in attendance. at-tendance. Craig Pabst, club president acted as master of ceremonies, and conducted the evenings activities. Leslie Marsh, representing the Pep Club, spoke on "What is an Athlete", and Krik Roberts representing the Athletic Club, spoke on "What it takes to be an athlete." Both did an excellent job. The special guest speaker for the evening was LaVell Edwards, Ed-wards, BYU head football coach. Coach Edwards spoke on the values, other than winnings, that are obtained through participation par-ticipation in athletics. Letter certificates were presented to all those boys who earned them through this past school year. Also trophies were presented for each sport for various accomplishments. Football awards winners -Most Valuable Back - Kevin Larsen; Most Valuable Lineman John Hafen; Most Inspirational - Kirk Roberts; Most Improved -Brian Eastman; Outstanding football player ; Paul Antonino. Basketball award winners -Most Inspirational - Chris Jensen; Best Defense - Bart Brown - Dave Frahm; Most Improved - Dennis Giles; Outstanding basektball player -Mike Hansen; John Gustin Award - Craig Pabst. Wrestling Awards winners Most Inspirational - Tracy Erdmann; Crowd Pleaser - Tony Doty; Most Improved - John Hafen; Outstanding Wrestler -John Marshall. Golf award winner - Randy Johnson - Outstanding golfer. Track award winners Most Inspirational - Craig Huff; Most Improved - Ron Howes; Outstanding Out-standing Track - Trent Smith. Baseball Award winners -Outstanding tennis player - Dave Hall. If an athlete acquires 7 or more letters during his high school participation in athletics he will receive an "S" pin, and we had two qualify this year. Regulations restrict species of fish to be raised, control release of reared fish into any waters of the state, and prohibit bringing diseased fish to private installations. in-stallations. Fees for certificates of registration are $100 for a commercial fish hatchery; $15 for a commercial fish pond; and $2 for a noncommercial fish pond. Certificates may take fish and fish eggs from their facilities at any time in any manner and offer the fish or fish eggs for sale. Holders of a noncommercial fish pond certificate cer-tificate may take fish or fish eggs but may not offer said fish or fish eggs for sale. All fish sold must be issued by a seller's receipt. A state fishing license is-not is-not required of persons fishing on a commercial pond. HL 'Xhr As a senior at Orem High School, Pamela has been a top student in her class. Mapleton, Springville, Provo (2) and Spanish Fork Exciting moments, 'Indy Blues' mark Friday races at Suntana Suntana Raceway had its exciting moments and also it's Indy blues Friday night. The races started out with a lot of excitement, with first a helicopter spectical, which was filming some television footage of the cars running some special hot lap events. The Helicopter show plus the sudden gusts of wind that malfunctioned the timing light and communications com-munications interrupted the regular scheduled events. Suntana is receiving more car MOVING ON.. Best wishes to the outstanding class of 1973. We know you will , continue to find success. Johnson's and TRUST entries each week and Friday night there were several more new cars, but disaster struck as the new cars and some of the others started to break. Mark Schouten and Kay Hawkins blew their engines before qualifying. Jack Bennet also blew up. Terry Nish and Bob Knott were put out with ignition trouble.
