The Italians have been doing this for centuries with delicious, flavorful flavor-ful results. These dishes required long slow hours of cooking, but you can prepare this interesting flavor treat in only a fraction of the time. Try Toast-Topped Spaghetti Bake tonight. It's a quick, economical variation of the Italian fish and pasta theme. Because canned spaghetti in tomato sauce with cheese or canned Italian style spaghetti in tomato-cheese sauce provides the basis for the dish, you can rest assured that the spaghetti will be tender and the sauce superbly seasoned. The flavors of both spaghettis blend well with the good-eating flavor of salmon . . . tender peas and mushrooms add the crowning crown-ing flavor touch. Toast-Topped Spaghetti Bake 2 cans (1514 ounces each) spaghetti in tomato sauce with cheese 1 can (7 ounces) salmon, drained and flaked 1 cup cooked peas 1 can (2 ounces) sliced mushrooms, drained 2 tablespoons minced onion teaspoon dill weed, crushed 6 slices French bread Butter Garlic powder In IVi-quart casserole,. combine spaghetti, salmon, peas, mushrooms, mush-rooms, onion, and dill. Spread bread with butter and sprinkle with garlic; place on spaghetti. Bake at 350 F. for 30 minutes. Makes 4 to 6 servings. Or defrost, drain and slice frozen crab. Saute onion in olive oil. Add tomato-clam juice. Bring to a boil. Add rice and seasonings. Cover and simmer 20 minutes. Add crab, chicken, olives and peas. Simmer 5 to 10 minutes longer or until rice is tender. Makes 4 servings.
