SJHS library contributes funds to high school band uniforms Carl Barton, Springville High School band instructor, received a $50.00 check for the new high school band uniforms from Evelyn Haslam, librarian at Springville Junior High School. The junior high library spon sored a school-wide book fair in November in conjunction with National Book Week. The books for the fair were provided pro-vided by the Educational Reading Read-ing Services Inc., which allowed allow-ed the school to keep a per centage of the total sales money for a cause of their choice. The library chose to give the money to the uniform fund. The junior high students re- ponded enthusiastically to the fair and to the idea of helping with the fund raising project. Looking Ahoarl by Dr. George S. Benson President NATIONAL EDUCATION PROGRAM Searcy, Arkansas - , SUBVERSION GROWS SWIFTLY One of the several chilling facts emerging from the "fantastic "fan-tastic success" (for World Communism) of the "March on Washington" November 13, 14, 15 was the irrefutable evidence of the growing strength of the subversive forces in America. At the Pentagon in October 1967, "an army" of approximately 60,000 was mobilized and used for world-wide propaganda purposes pur-poses by the Communists. In two years, working mainly with the aid of some of the most prominent public personages person-ages in America (non-Communists) and with at least indirect aid from influential "news" organizations, the Communists have been able to multiply their mobilization capability nearly 10-fold. Our staff reporters re-porters estimated the Nov. 15 crowd at more than 500,000. At the end of the three-day seige of the Capital, the boiling boil-ing white clouds of gas warfare war-fare spewed out by the Washington police against waves of fanatical Enemy swept into and through the sprawling Department of Justice complex, across the business and governmental areas, and on to the White House itself. How Much More? The attack upon the Justice Department was no demon stration for peace" "Peace' now or later. It was a vicious paramilitary mob action of hate against the United States Government for its prosecution of eight comrades in Chicago ("The Chicago 8") 'on charges of conspiring to foment riots during the Democratic con- 1 Monday will mark the first birthday for Garrett Raw-lings, Raw-lings, son of Mr. and Mrs. Russell Rawlings of this city. 10 Tuesday marked ;the big day for one year old Douglas Brent Snelson, whose first birthday occurred then. And amazingly enough, the Chicago trial was recessed permitting the "Chicago 8" to help their comrades tear up Washington. Dave Dellinger and others of the "8" spoke from the Washington Wash-ington Monument speakers' . platform (to the massed crowds), inciting them to join in the assault on the Justice Department! How much more license to riot can our Government grant these revolutionaries? Each "fantastic success" urges them to carry on their plot against our nation. In next week's column we will report on the "press" coverage of the "march." JJaycee Week Jan. 118-241 YOUNG MEN CAN CHANGE THE WORLD! JOIN THE JAYCEES!
