Show Page Six P C lit 0 1 1- v ) if, - I Tracy Erdmann UfniitjBlMi Judy Calder Junior high names 'Good Citizens' Tracy Erdmann An energetic, friendly, capable cap-able ninth grader, Tracy Erdmann, Erd-mann, was chosen as "Citizen of the Week" at the Springville Junior High School. Tracy was elected as his class president early in the school year and has shown real leadership in this capacity. The third of six children, he is the son of Donald and Barbara Bar-bara Erdmann of Mapleton. His hobbies include among other things, a coin collection, and he plays trumpet, first stand, in the school band. In the field of sports, basketball basket-ball is his favorite, and he is playing on the Mapleton First Ward team in the junior division di-vision which is still in lead position. Last year he was selected as the outstanding player in the deacons' basketball basket-ball tournament of Kolob Stake where his team placed first. Other sports high on his list are hunting, fishing, and swimming. A good " student, Tracv likes all of his school classes and maintains about a B plus average. In Scout work he has obtained ob-tained his Life Award, is working toward his Eagle, and is enthusiastic about a special "super" activty his Explorer troop s planning fpr next sum- mpr. He is presently serving as secretary of his teachers quor um of the Mapleton LDS First Ward, was president " of his deacons auorum. and has qual ified for his third Individual Award. Judy Calder Judy Calder, a pretty ninth grader with a sparkling smile, was also chosen as a "Citizen of the Week" at Springville Junior High. The second of eight children, Judy is a daugh ter of Glen and Shirley Calder Cald-er of Mapleton. She finds a large family to her liking and feels that the experience of helping with the younger children chil-dren at home has helped her to become a responsible person. . Her major interests include sewing, cooking, and playing the piano. She completed four years of 4-H Club work. One season she won a first place in dressmaking, and her dress was exhibited at the State Fair. She enjoys all sports and played on the MIA girls' soft- ball team for Mapleton Third Ward last summer. An excellent student, Judy finds school both interesting and challenging, and maintains about a B plus or A- average. She has served recently on the Bishop's iYouth Council of the Third Ward of Mapleton, and has earned two or three Individual Awards.
