LaSal Forest To Be Administered From Price Office Headquarters for the LaSal national na-tional forest in southeastern Utah will move from Provo to Price, as the result of a transfer decision deci-sion announced from Washington yesterday by the United Press. Under the new arrangement, headquarters for both the LaSal and Manti forests will be consolidated consoli-dated at Price. Herald Want Ads Bring Results Union Painters Out On Strike SALT LAKE CITY, April 1 (U.R) Union painters were off their jobs here today, apparently observing the April 1 deadline they set for a walkout if contractors con-tractors failed to meet a demand for a pay boost. Gunther Zilonka, contractors' secretary, said only a few men showed up for work and most of. tnose wno am came oniy ior meir weekly paycheck. Painters. are asking for an hourly increase of 12 cents an hour. Present base pay Is si. 73 an hour. Union President J. R. Wilson refused to comment when asked if his painters had struck. But' Zilonka said as far as contractors were concerned the situation was deadlocked." About 400 painters are affected. at Ogden, said consolidation of the Manti and LaSal national forests has been considered for a number of years.
