Sept. 8 (U.R) The CIO United Auto Workers union formally opened a drive today for a pension plan for its 250,000 pro duction workers of General Motors corporation, the world's largest auto producer. Walter P. Reuther, UAW presi dent and director of the UAW GM department, notified GM President Harry W. Anderson that the union was making the bid under terms of a two-year con tract signed last spring. In line with a January state ment of policy that the eiant union would fight for such social security for all its 800,000 mem bers, Feuther sought to inject the pension issue in 1947 contract talks.
