Mothers of the couple wore black sequin-trimmed dresses with corsages of gardenias and red roses. Also in the receiving line were fathers of the couple. String music played by Dorothy Doro-thy Clark, Elaine Jessie, Virginia Minor and GlennaWebb gave a pleasing atmosphere to the reception recep-tion which followed immediately after the wedding. A large wedding cake, topped with tiny bride and groom, featured feat-ured the serving table at which Mrs. LaCelle Sumsion presided, assisted by Thelma Whitney, Pauline Pau-line Boyer, Doris Fietkan and Joylene and Renee Rowle. The couple stood in front of the mantle which was pretty with cathedral ca-thedral tapers and yellow chrysanthemums, chrys-anthemums, asters and gladiolus. They received many lovely gifts which were displayed by LaDean Woodward, Thiletta Taskett, Beverly Bev-erly Olsen and Florence Jolley. David and Stanley Sumsion, brothers of the groom, served as ushers for the 175 guests. After a honeymoon, Mr. and Mrs. Sumsion will be at home in Provo at 775 East Third South. Banquet For Lady Lions An important social gathering was the banquet given for Lady Lions at the Federation Room, with new officers of the organize tion in charge. New officers are Mrs. Vera Bullock, president: Mrs. LeRoy Johnson, first vice-president; Mrs. Karl Jones, second vlce-presi dent; Mrs. George Ashby,. secretary sec-retary and treasurer: Mrs: Pat Mower, reporter: Mrs. Pete Fak ler, tailtwister and Mrs. Johnny Cobb, Mrs.. Rulon Morgan, Mrs W. E. Morgan as directors. Guests were seated at tables decorated to represent the dif ferent "months of the year, un usual decorations added to the pleasant occasion. Joyce Tangren accompanied by Murial Perkins sang three vocal numbers. Mrs. Margaret O'Brien talked to the group regarding the needs of Utah Valley hospital and Mrs. W. Woolf reported on the Lions international convention and. gave a tribute to the outgoing officers. Mrs. Karl Jones gave a citation to the 14 members who had 100 percent attendance records last. year and tnanxeo tnose wno helped at the child health center Gifts were presented to the out going officers and to those with 100 percent attendance. Mrs Claire Aldrich received the suit which was given as a door prize and which was won by the Provo group at convention. Bowering, with fifteen relatives and friends In at tendance. The pretty bride, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles E. Dean, greeted her guests wearing a gown of, white brocade satin with fingertip veil, held with a tiara of seed pearls. She carried a bouquet of white gladiolus and red roses, tied with satin streamers. Attending Attend-ing the bride, in pretty pastel frocks were Mrs. Earl Banks, sis ter of the bride as matron-of honor and Marie Dean, Mrs. Le land Wakefield and Mary Louise reterson. Kicnard Peterson was best man for his brother. Mrs. Nancy Peterson, mother of the groom, and Mrs. Dean wore blue dresses with red rose corsages. cor-sages. Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Dean greeted the guests at the door, Mrs. Harold L. Dean was hostess and Harold L. Dean was master of ceremonies. The. serving table was covered with a lace' cloth and lighted with white tapers with a wedding cake centering the table. The 350 guests were served by Randa Bentwet, Gloria Jensen, Emily Hassill, Nanette Nan-ette Stapp, Thelma Walker and Clarice Walker. Paula Mae Lutz was in charge of the gift display assisted by Margaret Hay ward, Carol Whatcott and Kay Steele. During the evening a delightful delight-ful program was furnished and string music played by a string trio: Evelyn Hilgendorff, Rayma Johnson and Arden Lane. The young couple left for a honeymoon to California and will return in time for Mr. Peterson to enter the BYU this month. Many parties have been given to honor the new Mrs. Peterson, including a shower given by Mrs. Lynn Hayward and Mrs. Leland Wakefield at the Hayward home and a dinner party for the bride and groom at the L. MI A Group At Party Officers and teachers of Fourth ward MIA held their opening party of the season at the home of Mr. and Mrs. R. L. Terry. YMMIA President Ves- Clark was in charge of the occasion which featured community sing- inging, games and a program with whistling solos by Elton Sumner. Luncheon was served to 40 guests at an attractive table near the outdoor fireplace.
