Show Reception Honors Couple Wed During Yule Season An attractive wedding reception of the new year, was the affair given by Mr. and Mrs. Junius Christiansen at the Joseph Smith building Wednesday Wednes-day evening, to compliment their daughter Meredith, Mere-dith, and Herbert B. Stratton, who were married in the Salt Lake temple December 22. Mr. Stratton is a son of Mr. and Mrs; James G. Stratton, of Or em. The newly-weds received congratulations and good wishes from 300 or more guests, who enjoyed an evening or dancing ana a color ful 'floor show presented by the Ffedova School, of Dancing. Pink and white carnations .and potted ferns and palmp were used in decorating the ballroom and banquet room, and "the serving table was covered with a lace cloth and was centered with a huge bouquet of the carnations. Whits tapers bnmed on either side. A cheery fire burned in the fireplace, also, in the lounge, where the guests were received. For her wedding, the bride, chose a handsome gown of heavy white satin, modeled with long' train. Her full-length airline veil fell from a dainty cap trimmed "with white velvet rosebuds. She South Sea Islands Program Enjoyed A program on the "South Sea Islands," presented by Bishop and Mrs. Ariel S. Ballif, delighted members of the Women s Council literary tsection Wednesday even ing at the clubhouse. Mrs. Leo Larsen, chairman, was in "charge, and announced the open session of the section, to whicn all members of the council are invited, to be held the last Mon day afternoon in the month. The Club Collect was read by Mrs Mark Haws. War Center Reopens The adult homemakmg program at the family war center begins its winter series of conferences, dem onstrations and classes, Tuesday, January 10. All of the classes will be conducted con-ducted in the Central building of the Provo high school at Fourth West and First South. The program- is sponsored by the Provo school district and there are ho fees for any of the work.
