Warren was free free without bond today, pending sentence on a charge of rising too rapidly from yard bird to major. Warren, a Negro civilian, raised more than $2,000 in Santa Barbara, Bar-bara, his home town for a USO club of his own for Negro soldiers, sol-diers, a legitimate and well-run entervrise. He noticed, however, that his guests were more impressed when he donned a lieutenant's uniform, so he did.
